Lonnie “Granny Peanut” Dixon Gibson, 81, of Hallie, died May 10 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard.
A daughter of the late Hiram and Eva Eldridge Dixon, she was the widow of Edward Gibson. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Venisha Rogers, and a brother, Shelby Dixon.
Mrs. Gibson attended Jeremiah Missionary Baptist Church and Faith Mission Baptist Church. She loved fishing, gardening, riding four-wheelers, hunting, and church family.
Surviving are a daughter, Zoni Hampton and husband Glen of Redstar; a son, Ralph Shuffler of Whitesburg; a son-in-law, Gary Rogers of Hallie; two brothers, Dan Dixon and Cydis Dixon, both of Hallie; four sisters, Bonnie Bentley of Neon, Freda Trent of Hallie, Lania Trent of Daisy, and Patsy Hamilton of Viper; grandchildren, Fred Jones and wife Cat of Jeremiah, Rachel Phillips and husband Adam of Pound, Va., Eric Shuffler of Whitesburg, Heather Shuffler Thomas of Harrodsburg, Johnny Eldridge and wife Tamara of Jeremiah, Jonathon Eldridge and wife Jess of Jeremiah; Nicole Roberson and husband Randall of Blackey, and Janet Rider and husband Carter; and great-grandchildren, Kadence Whitaker, Keegan Jones, Gunner Jones, Cecilia Jones, Jayden Watkins, Abby Church, Riley Thomas, Caleb Edward Eldridge, Chloe Eldridge, Gabby Eldridge, Hila Amburgey, Zander Eldridge, Logan Shuffler, Braxton Shuffler, Haley Shuffler, Ethan Eldridge, Gabe Roberson, and Haley Rider.
Funeral services were held May 12 at Letcher Funeral Home. Burial was in the Gibson family cemetery at Hallie.
