Minda Quillen Short, 71, died March 7 at her home at Burdine.
Born in Fleming, she was a daughter of the late William and Martha Wagers Quillen. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Jeffery Michael Quillen; a grandson, David Jordan Silcox; a brother, Woodrow Quillen; three sisters, Ettie Collier, Princie Honeycutt and Marie Purlee; a daughter in-law, Tammy Quillen; and a grandson-in-law, Kevin Mullins.
She was a longtime member of the Burdine Church of God of Prophecy.
Surviving are her former husband, Denver Short; two daughters, Melinda Blevins and husband Thomas of Dalton, Ga., and Crystle Silcox and husband of Beaver; three sons, Robert Quillen and wife Kimberlie of Cynthiana, Keith Quillen and wife Kathy of Jenkins, and John Short and wife Lee Ann of Dalton, Ga.; two brothers, Monroe Quillen and wife Nancy of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Jake Quillen of Pekin, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a niece, Carol Church.
Funeral services were held March 10 at the Burdine Church of God of Prophecy. Burial was in Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.
