Funeral services were held at the Neon Church of Christ on Tuesday for Norma Lee Meade Mayfield, 77, of Smyrna, Tennessee.
Mrs. Mayfield, a member of the Church of Christ for much of her life, died October 16 at the Whitesburg hospital. She was a daughter of the late Elijah Willis and Allie Mae Collier Baker, and the widow of James Mayfield.
Survivors of Mrs. Mayfi eld include a son, Christopher Meade of Smyrna, Tenn.; a daughter, Paula Branham of McRoberts; nine sisters, Mary Lou Fowler of Texas, Anna Ruth Baker of Arkansas, Jessie Mae Hall of Jackhorn, Dorothy Gibson and Nina Bentley, both of Ezel, Iva Strange of Millstone, Joy Stemm of Zanesville, Ohio, Leora Branham of Mayking, and Diana Kittinger of Fordsville. Three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
Preceding Mrs. Mayfield in death was a sister, Loretta McCray, and two brothers, Mark Elwin Baker and James Lonnie “Pete” Baker.
Burial was in Baker Cemetery at Millstone. Letcher Funeral Home, Whitesburg, had charge of the arrangements.
