Patronuia “Pat” Elaine Sparks Posey, age 70, died December 9 at her home in Greenfield, Ind.
Born in Mayking to the late Rev. William “Bill” and Susie Webb Sparks, she was also preceded in death by seven siblings, Juanita, Denoral, Maewood, Carnell, William, Ronnie and R.F .
She was graduated from Whitesburg High School, and attended Morehead State University.
Mrs. Posey was the owner/operator of Orphan Annie’s Mercantile/Posey Shack in Greenfield, Indiana, for more than 30 years, and was a member of the Indianapolis Art League and the Craft & Hobby Association.
Surviving Mrs. Posey are her husband, Richard L. Posey of Greenfield, Ind.; two sons, Byron Posey of Indianapolis, Ind., and Bryce Posey of Greenfield, Ind.; a daughter, Atheana Butcher and husband Robert of Greenfield, Ind.; four siblings, Francis Robinson of Whitesburg, Gloria R. Haynes of New Palestine, Ind., Carl R. Sparks of Bowling Green, and Larry D. Sparks of Mayking; five grandchildren, Andrienna, Brittany, A’Driella, Micaela and Christopher; and a great-grandson, Eli.
Funeral services for Mrs. Posey were held December 17 at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, in Greenfield, Ind. Burial was in the Philadelphia Church Cemetery in Greenfield.
