Raleigh Day Sr., 82, of Craft’s Colly, died July 21 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Healthcare Center.
A son of the late Bertis and Viola Adams Day, he was the widower of Jessie Newman Day. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph Day, Billy Joe Day, and H.L. Day, and a sister, Dorothy Seals.
Surviving are a son, Raleigh Day Jr. and wife Lynn of Sandlick; a daughter, Beatrice Hamilton and husband Glenn of Greenville, Ind.; three brothers, Jimmy Day, David Day, and Lonzo Day, all of Craft’s Colly; four sisters, Barbara Albert of Louisville, Sarah France of Cutshin, Sue Clair of Booneville, and Patsy Richards of Booneville; three grandchildren, Rod Day, Chad Hamilton, and Gregg Hamilton; and four greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services were held July 24 at Letcher Funeral Home, Burial was in the Haven of Rest Cemetery at Mayking.
Letcher Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
