Rhudell Spears, 89, died March 2 at her home in Winchester.
Born in McRoberts to the late Morgan B. and Bertha Quillen Johnson, she was the mother of the late Fred H. Spears and a sister of the late Mae Spears and Faye Hampton.
She was retired from the McRoberts Post Office as assistant postmaster, had worked at Jenkins County Club, and was a member of McRoberts Church of Christ.
Surviving are two daughters, Bertha Gay Tackett and husband Carl Rex, Ft. Blackmore, Va., and Deborah Counts and husband Mark, Big Stone Gap, Va.; three sons, Jimmy Spears and wife Nevida, Versailles, Edwin ‘Bo’ Spears, Winchester, and William Spears and wife Linda, Lawrenceburg; 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Canie Bentley, Winchester; and a brother, Morgan B. Johnson Jr., Ocala, Fla.
Funeral services were held March 5 at McRoberts Church of Christ. Burial was in Johnson family cemetery.
