Funeral services for Sidney Oneil Maggard, 74, were held yesterday (Tuesday) at Letcher Funeral Home in Whitesburg. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Maggard-Standifer Cemetery at Tunnel Hill.
Born in Partridge to the late Sidney and Ruby Adams Maggard, he died June 16. He was a brother of the late Lucille Wyatt and Cecil Rondal Maggard.
He was retired from coal mining, working both underground and in surface mining.
Surviving are his wife, Annalea Maggard; a daughter, Vickie Standifer and husband Jack; two sons, David Maggard and wife Phyllis, and Timothy Maggard and wife Rhonda, all of Whitesburg; 10 grandchildren, Brandy Baker and husband Greg, Tiffany Sturgill and husband Josh, Kori and James Standifer, Matthew Maggard and friend Hailey Kuracka, Kyle Eldridge and fiancée Tasha Gibson, Heather and Jazmine Maggard, Amy and Jennifer Brashears; five great-grandchildren, Luke, Elijah, Chloe, Lily and Peyton; and three brothers, Charles Adrain Maggard, Whitesburg, Ira Willis Maggard, Craft’s Colly, and Billy Joe Maggard, Jeremiah.
