Veldia Maggard, 82, died November 6 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital.
A daughter of the late Jessee McFall and Artha Mullins, she was the widow of Andy Maggard and the mother of the late Van Maggard.
She was a sister of the late Florida Burns, Ruth Kavalesky, Flora Fegley, Collins Mullins, Eugene Mullins and R.L. Mullins.
She was a member of the House of Prayer in Thornton.
Surviving are six sons, Franklin Mullins and wife Shirley of Stafford, Va., James Mullins and wife Rhonda of Morristown, Tenn., Danny Mullins and wife Caroline of St. Paul, Va., Allen Maggard and wife Linda of Whitesburg, David Maggard and wife Regina of Neon, and Kenneth Maggard and wife Teresa of Columbus, Oh.; a sister, Phyllis Tomkins of Pound, Va.; a brother, Russell McFall of Whitesburg; 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. tonight (Wednesdayin Pound, Va. Graveside services will take place at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 10, at John Hop Mullins Cemetery in Pound, Va.
