Funeral services for Velva “Mimmy” Bailey, 86, were held August 8 at the Little Colley Pentecostal Church. Burial was in Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.
A daughter of the late Archie and Herma Collins Sexton and the widow of Vanis “Punk” Bailey, she was born in Isom. She died August 5 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Bailey was a member of the Little Colley Pentecostal Church for nearly 40 years. She loved singing for the Lord and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
Surviving are a daughter Vivian Combs and husband Charlie of Isom; a son, Stephen Bailey and wife June of Isom; two granddaughters, Pam Fronhapel and husband Rex and Zoe; a great-granddaughter, Maddi; three sisters, Rosa Breeding of Isom, Mary Pugh of Redfox, and Brenda Brown of West Liberty; and a brother, Gary Joe Bennett.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Lawton Sexton, Douglas Ray Sexton, and Kenneth Reed Sexton, and a sister, Wilma Jean Barnett.
