Funeral services for Mary Gaye Sturgill, 73, will be held at noon on Wednesday, October 19, at the Little Dove Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Maggard Cemetery at Cumberland.
A daughter of the late Wendell and Myrtle Sturgill and Henry Baker, she died October 16 at her home in Eolia.
She was a sister of the late Allie Mae Coots and Shirley Jean Lewis.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Worley D. Sturgill; three sons, Vernus Sturgill of Vicco, and Joey Sturgill and Dewayne Sturgill, both of Eolia; a daughter, Renee Dunson of Jacksonville, N.C.; four brothers, James Sturgill of McHenry, Ill., Rodney Sturgill and Bennie Sturgill, both of Eolia, and Tommy Baker of Cumberland; five sisters, Hannah Burke, Ossie Lewis, Maureen Church, and Dorsey Bowman, all of Eolia, and Pearl Baker of Jacksonville, N.C.; nine grandchildren, Matthew Sturgill, Mary Roberts, April Sturgill, Haley Sturgill, Zach Sturgill, Corey Sturgill, Mindy Sturgill, and Nikkia Caldwell; and six great-grandchildren.
Letcher Funeral Home of Whitesburg had charge of arrangements.
