Billy R. Stamper, 81, died July 25 at his residence in Paris.
Born at Dry Fork, he was a son of the late Fred and Lovell Cornett Stamper.
Mr. Stamper was an avid fisherman and enjoyed Florida and Lake Erie. He was a construction worker and also retired from United Parcel Service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his foster parents, Wardie and Hazel Craft ; two sisters, Eva Jean Panther and Geraldine Holden; and three brothers, Charles Stamper, Howard Stamper, and Wayne Stamper.
He is survived by two sons, Richard Stamper and wife Jeanna of West Liberty, and Michael Stamper and wife Sherry, of Dayton, Ohio; a granddaughter, Cheyenne Stamper and Billy Crase of Georgetown; two brothers, Clennon Stamper and wife Tammy and Douglas Stamper and wife Glenna of West Liberty; and a special friend, Wanda Richard of Paris.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday, July 28) at Potter Funeral Home, West Liberty, with Elder Roger McGuire officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Hill Cemetery in Caney. Visitation is from 11 a.m.to 1 p.m., Wednesday, July 28, at the funeral home.
