Colette Remlein Tolliver died March 6 at her home near Whitesburg.
Born in Burgsinn, Bavaria, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Franz and Anna Remlein. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Fritz and Karl of Euerdorf, Germany; a sister, Kaethe Nickel of Thungersheim, Germany; and a daughter, Linda Carol Tolliver.
Mrs. Tolliver was a licensed tailor and businesswoman, and owned several small businesses. She loved to travel back to her homeland and visit her extended family.
She met her husband, Don Tolliver, when he was stationed near her home in Germany in the years following World War II. They married in 1956.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Gabriele Hutchinson and husband Doug of Louisa; three sons, George Tolliver and wife Helen and Randy Tolliver, all of Whitesburg, and Kevin Tolliver and wife April of Norman, Okla.; 12 grandchildren and 21 greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday,) at Letcher Funeral Home. Burial will be in Green Acres Cemetery in Whitesburg.
