Funeral services for Elsie Mae Ryan, 86, will be held at 1 p.m., May 12, at the Seco Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Whitaker Cemetery at Seco.
A daughter of the late Blaine and Bertha Taylor, she was the widow of Leonard Moore and Thomas Ryan. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Viola Henderson and Effie Taylor, and brothers, Billy Ray, Clarence, Ottis, James, Lonnie Darrell, Blaine, Donnie, Bernard and Bobby Joe Taylor.
Mrs. Ryan was a sales clerk at many department stores and a homemaker. She enjoyed shopping and was an avid bargain hunter. She also loved old rock and roll, especially Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry, and the older shows on television.
She died May 8 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Surviving are a son, Gary Moore, Neon; grandchildren, Gary Van Moore and Shequeenia Whitaker, both of Whitaker, and Leonard Moore, Deane; great-grandchildren, Dalton Moore, Kaitlyn Moore and Braylen Whitaker; two sisters, Faye Bolling of Pound, Va., and Carolyn Lynn Spangler of Neon; a brother, Fred Taylor of Kona; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a special friend, Etta Long of Cromona.
