Services set for Haskel Sexton

Haskel Sexton, 77, of Moore, S.C., died May 15.

Born at Colson, he was a son of the late William I. and Nancey Bowling Sexton. He was a brother of the late Wilgus “Wig” Sexton, Theodore Sexton, Harold Sexton, and Eva Sexton Slone.

He was graduated from Colson Elementary School and Whitesburg High School, and was the owner and operator of Sexton Diesel Service and had also worked at Dowd Construction.

Sexton was a Mason, a farmer, a member of the South Carolina Cattleman’s Association, and a U.S. Army veteran.

Surviving are a son, Haskel Sexton II and wife Crystal, Moore, S.C.; a brother, Winifred “Rad” Sexton and wife Mildred, Farmland, Ind.; a sister-inlaw, Ina Pauline Sexton; four grandchildren, Christian T. Sexton, William H. Sexton, Haskel Sexton III, and Anna M. Garrett.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 21 at the Babe Ison Cemetery at Isom.

Letcher Funeral Home of Whitesburg had charge of local arrangements.
