Services set for Helen Mulholland




Helen Lucille Mulholland, 80, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., died June 14.

Born at Sergent, she was a daughter of the late Roy R. Crawford Sr. and Regina Fairchild Crawford, and a sister of the late Roy R. Crawford Jr. and Virginia Lee Crawford. She was a graduate of Whitesburg High School and received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Kentucky and attended Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va.

She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Huntington, and the French Protestant Huguenot Church in Charleston, S.C. She was also a member of the Rebecca Motte Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Artists’ Guild of Charleston. She was a board member of the Charlestown Concert Association, and a patron of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, the Gibbs Museum of Art, and the Scottish Society of Charleston.

A gifted artist, her artwork has been featured at the Huntington Galleries Museum and in many one-woman exhibits. She and her husband co-chaired the Cabell- Huntington Historical Society, and with her familiy she created the Maison DuPre Inn, an historic inn in Charleston.

Surviving are her husband, Robert Mulholland; a daughter, Teri Mulholland Bergin, Huntington, W.Va.; a son, Robert Mark Mulholland and wife Angela, Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; grandchildren, Robert Todd Bergin and wife Jessica, and Taite Bergin, all of Irvine, Calif.; Andrew Tyler Bergin and wife Nancy, Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; and Kristina Lucille Mulholland and Robert Reid Mulholland, both of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; and two greatgrandchildren, Madison Renee Bergin and Ethan Crawford Bergin.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. June 23 at the Protestant French Huguenot Church in Charleston, S.C.
