Services set for James Hampton


James Duncan “Jim” Hampton, 6, died November 3 at Pikeville Medical Center.

Born in Whitesburg, he was a son of the late Duncan and Hazel Sturgill Hampton. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Madonna Mathes.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and dogs.

Surviving are his wife, Lisa Diane Carter Hampton; a son, James Hampton Jr. and wife Donna of Depauw, Ind.; two sisters, Mary Ann King of Florence, and Julie Johnson and husband Bob of Prestonsburg; two grandchildren, Addie Hampton and Jack Phelps; his father-in-law, Clarence Carter Jr. of Eolia; and a sister-in-law, Kathy Kilbourne and husband Harold of Wise, Va.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, November 6, at Everidge Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Hampton Cemetery at Roxana.
