Funeral services for Jean Dixon Adams, 76, will be held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, May 22) at the Blair Branch Old Regular Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Shade Adams Cemetery at Jeremiah.
Born in Blackey, she was the oldest daughter of Bob and Alice Dixon.
Mrs. Adams was a loving, kind, bright and hardworking woman. She was an overachiever in school and was graduated from Stuart Robinson High School at the young age of 15. She was an amazing cook and quickly became well known for her chicken and dumplings and biscuits and gravy. She always enjoyed getting together with family and friends and leaves them all with cherished memories.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Jimmy Ray Adams; a son, Michael Shade Adams and wife Fran; a daughter, Mary Carolyn Adams Sturgill and husband Tim; five grandchildren, Brett Adams and wife Jennifer, Nikki Adams, Aaron Sturgill, Connor Sturgill, and Dalton Sturgill; three great-grandchildren, Parker, Cole, and Kanaan Adams; three sisters, Helen Amburgey, Chris Asher, and Gladys Allen; and a stepsister, Wanda Keaton.
