Services set for Larry Joe Gibson




Graveside services for Larry Joe Gibson, 62, of Lafayette, Ind., will be held at 2 p.m., June 23 at the Boney Banks Cemetery in Whitesburg.

Born in Whitesburg to the late Lloyd Alonzo Gibson and Faye Banks Burkhart, he died December 4 in Indianapolis.

He was a brother of the late David Jehrome Bennett, Billy Ray Burkhart, and Debra Sue Burkhart, and a grandson of the late Harrison and Parlee Banks, who reared him after the death of his parents in 1968.

Mr. Gibson was a U.S. Army veteran, had worked for the railroad, and started his own business, Gibson Roofing.

Surviving are his fiancée, Karen Louise Reese; a daughter, Eleanor Parlee Gibson; two sons, Larry Joe Gibson, II and wife Rebecca, and David Jehrome Gibson, all of Lafayette; two brothers,

Michael Gibson and wife Barbara of Lafayette, and Harrison Levi Bennett and wife Shirley of Attica, Mich.; a sister, Mabel Lynn Burkhart; and two grandchildren, Ella Jean and Walter James Gibson.
