Funeral services for Leon Douglas Blair, 81, of Jeremiah, will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 1, at Letcher Independent Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Letcher Independent Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Isom Cemetery.
A son of the late Sol and Nora Caudill, he died September 28 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard.
Surviving are his wife, Jerry Lee Smith Blair; a son, Dewayne Blair of Jeremiah; four daughters, Angela Sue Stamper of Isom, Tammy Lou Huntley of Arkansas, and Melissa Wilder and Michelle Meyer, both of Jeremiah; eight grandchildren, Regina, Justin, D.J., Brittany, James, Angel, Olivia, and Emma; and seven great-grandchildren, Carly, Bailey, Abigail, Charleigh, Emry, Madelyn, and Natalie.
Mr. Blair was preceded in death by three brothers, Fess Blair, Rex Blair, and Jim Blair, and a sister, Estelle Day.
