Funeral services for Marjorie Jean Miller Peck, 67, of Cornettsville, will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday) at the Mount Olivet Baptist Church. Burial will be in the William Manon Cornett Cemetery at Daisy.
A daughter of the late George Miller and Justine Porter and the grandmother of the late Darren David, she died August 4.
She was a member of Mount Olivet Baptist Church where she taught the ladies’ Sunday school for 15 years, the VFW Post 7387 Ladies’ Auxiliary and the Gideons Auxiliary, and was Parents Teachers Association President at Leatherwood Elementary School for eight years.
Surviving are her husband, John Peck; two sons, Michael Blaine Cornett and wife Pamela of Alabama, and Carey David Cornett of Delphia; two daughters, Carol Ann Brashear and husband Sug of Lotts Creek, and Pamela Kaye Banks and husband Edison II of Whitesburg; two stepdaughters, Joanna Bodner of Billings, Mont., and Kris Adams of Park City, Mont.; two brothers, Robert Porter and wife Ann of Lotts Creek, and Donald Porter and wife Carolyn of Cornettsville; 15 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
