Philip R. Caudill, Sr., 77, of Lexington, Ind., died January 26 at Scott Memorial Hospital.
Born in Blackey, he was the son of the late Virgil and Renevae Dixon Caudill. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jean Caudill, and a brother, Billy Caudill.
He was graduated from Dupont Manuel High School in Louisville, and earned a bachelor’s degree from Berea College. He was a retired chief chemical engineer and technical director for the old Holm Industries in Scottsburg, Ind., where he worked for 20 years. He was a member of the First Assembly of God in Madison, Ind.
Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth E. Matthews of Scottsburg, Ind., and Cheryl D. LaMar and husband Ron of Lexington, Ind.; a son, Philip Reed Caudill, Jr. of Savannah, Ga.; a brother, Dale Caudill and wife Betty of Greer, S. C.; five grandchildren, Erica Raines, Michael Pfeiffer and wife Mian, Summer Matthews, Logan LaMar and Kendra Matthews; and a greatgranddaughter, Josi Moon.
Funeral services will be held January 30. Burial will be in the Scottsburg Cemetery.
