Services set for Shirley Gibbs



Shirley Ann Shepherd Gibbs, 80, of Partridge, died April 26 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital. A daughter of the late Herbert and Mattie Barnett Shepherd, she was the widow of Winston Gibbs, Jr.

In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her stepmother, Eartha Shepherd; sisters, Alma Day, Doris Whitaker, and Laura Turner; brothers, Herbert Joel Shepherd, Brent Shepherd, Timothy Hayes Shepherd, and Herbert Harold Shepherd; brother-in-law, Jimmy Gibbs and wife Mattie; and sister-in-law, Maude Gibbs Raleigh and husband Everett.

Sur viving are four sons, Jerry Gibbs and wife Glenda, Jeffery Gibbs and wife Sheila, Michael Gibbs and wife Linda, and Tim Gibbs and wife Krissy; eight grandchildren, Health Yates and husband Josh, Candace Gibson and husband Bobby, Jerry Lee Gibbs, Misty Hall and husband Jon, Josh Gibbs and wife Ashley, Christopher Gibbs and wife Deirdre, Emily Gibbs and Abby Gibbs; 11 great-grandchildren, Riley and Bristol Yates, Donovon Gibson, Aspen Gibbs, Hudson Gibbs, Harper Gibbs, Audrey Gibbs, Boston Gibbs, Grayson Gibbs, Aiden Hall and Kimber Gibbs; a great-great grandchild Kairi Williams; a brother, Paul Shepherd and wife Diane; sisters-in-law, Loretta Shepherd, Phyllis Shepherd and Wanda Shepherd; brother-in-law, Charlie Day; and special family friend, Tanya Lewis.

Due to mandates by the Governor of Kentucky, visitation is limited to 60 percent of building capacity with facemask and social distancing for all services and at all times.

Friends may visit on Wednesday, April 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Tri City Funeral Home, 506 Holly Street, Benham. Funeral services will be conducted by the Reverend Glenn Cornett on Thursday, April 29, at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the Gibbs family cemetery in Partridge.
