A young man was seriously injured September 13 when he crashed the all-terrain vehicle he was driving on Bull Creek in Letcher County, near the Perry County line.
The Letcher County Sheriff ’s Department did not have details because the deputy who is investigating is on vacation. Kentucky State Police said Post 13’s 9-1-1 dispatch center in Hazard received a call at 2:25 p.m. last Friday reporting an ATV accident on Amos Road at Bull Creek.
When responders arrived, they found the male lying in the middle of the road with a serious head injury. The teen was taken to a vacant field beside the Letcher Independent Baptist Church, where Wings Air Rescue picked him up and transported him by helicopter to Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn.
No other details were available at press time.
