Sheryl Bolling dies

Sheryl May Nelson Bolling of Eolia, died March 17 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington after a long illness. She was 50 years old.

She was a daughter of Dorothy A. Nelson of Wise, Va., and the late Dr. Pierce D. Nelson. She was a granddaughter of the late Daniel H. and Ivy M. Nelson, and the late John J. and Rose D. Peringer.

Mrs. Bolling was a graduate of J.J. Kelly High School in Wise, Va., and later received a degree from Mountain Empire Community College in Big Stone Gap, Va. She raised horses and cared for dogs on her High Haven farm in eastern Kentucky.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Claude L. Bolling, Pound, Va.; four brothers, Fred Nelson, Brooklyn, N.Y.; Daniel Nelson and John Pierce “Petie” Nelson, both of Wise, Va.; and Hans Eric “Knute” Nelson, Rose Hill, Va.; and five sisters, Linda Nelson, Crescent City, Calif.; Judy Nelson Bednar, Pewaukee, Wis.; Sally Nelson Roop, Pound, Va.; Susan Nelson, Wise, Va.; and Lisa Nelson McClelland, Kingsport, Tenn.
