Sillar Montgomery dies in Ohio



Sillar H. Montgomery, 91, of Tiffin, Ohio, died November 11 at the Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center in Tiffin.

Born in Whitesburg to the late Irvin and Edna Adams Hall, she was the widow of Ivan B. Hatton, and later married Orbin Montgomery, who survives her.

She was the mother of the late James Hatton and Ann Tackett, and a sister of the late Paul Hall Jr., Donald Hall, Lenville Dewey Hall, Alpha Hatton and Josephine Pennington Maksemetz.

She was retired from General Electric, and was a member of the Eighth Avenue Freewill Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Sonny Hatton of Tiffin, Oh.; a daughter, Billie R. Rowe of Delaware, Oh.; six grandchildren, 15 greatgrandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Ray Hall of Tiffin, Oh.; and a sister, Julia Lawson of Tiffin.

Funeral services were held November 14 in Tiffin. Burial was in Seneca Memory Gardens.
