Hello everyone, hope you are all doing well.
Today is Friday and they say we might get two or three inches of snow tonight. If the roads get bad, this news may not get in this week’s paper. We have had such pretty weather I don’t think I’m ready for this, but I don’t have a choice.
We Howard sisters, Louise Shepherd, Kathleen Brock, Betty Tyree and myself, along with our adopted sisters Dorothy Miles and Joyce Howard — they don’t have sisters so we claim them — all went to Dairy Queen and ate lunch and our brother John Howard joined us. We really enjoyed it. We were celebrating the birthdays of Kathleen on the 8th and Betty on the 10th. We take the day between for it.
Our other two sisters, Judy Greene and Joann Brown, moved off and left us, but we still claim them and miss them and love to see them as often as we can. Whitesburg
I just heard we lost another Marlowe boy, Hugh Pennington, son of the late Dora and Henry Pennington. They were a large family of 12 children. Only five are left, Dorthy Tacket, Pearl Noble, Linda Hall, Billy Pennington and Palmer Pennington. All the Marlowe people will remember them.
Hugh’s family will be going to Ohio for his funeral tomorrow. Our sympathy certainly goes out to all the family. They are all close friends of mine. All the Marlowe people are like kinfolk.
Rose Ballard, I saw your name on my caller I.D. I haven’t had a chance to call you back. I want to have lots of time to talk. I will call you back. I read about the good time you had on your trip. I think you could have a good time wherever you go. I try to be happy anywhere
I’m so concerned about my son Larry Hatton. His blood pressure is too high and is not coming down. Remember him when you pray. He is trying to take care of himself. He is supposed to see a specialist in Pikeville March 12 to try to find out what’s causing it.
I just heard today that another friend has died, Linda Ann Adams of Cowan, wife of Danny Adams. We offer our sympathy to Danny and his family. You are in our prayers.
It’s been snowing all day. I hope the roads don’t get real bad. I’m looking forward to church on Sunday.
Roads OK. I’m going to church!
May God bless all of you. Try to be in church somewhere this week!
