Oops! Guess who forgot what day it is. Without a gentle reminder from my better half, there would have been no article this week. Does that tell you something?
I have had kind of a busy day though. Am getting material and quilting supplies for sale and after Georgia finished with the ladies at beauty shop, she came by and took me to the mall for shoe shopping. Must have been my lucky day cause I purchased two pairs for less than $17! I can certainly live with that. Had I known about sales and discount would most likely ended up with another pair or two.
Did you have a good week? Ours was certainly nothing to brag about but we did receive several most welcome calls. Red’s brother is home from the hospital and seems to be doing fairly well. Please keep him and his wife Delores in your prayers. Ask for Charles to be made well soon and as for Delores, strength, love and patience. I know what it’s like to care for a precious loved one who has gone through a major surgery. They will ever be in our hearts and prayers.
Red talked to his niece Frances Howard. His sister Nina is still at Letcher Manor Nursing Home as is his sister, Jean. Pray for all.
Got a call from his niece Lena Stallard and also one from niece Carlita Adams. Lena will be meeting her two sisters, Pricey Helen and Brenda somewhere in Virginia, a halfway drive for all. I sincerely hope they have a fantastic visit and am so glad they have this opportunity to be together. Families need each other. Carlita said she and her family are doing okay.
I also got a call from my niece Christy Adams and have talked to Jeanie ‘bout every other day.
Called Henry Warren last night. He’s having a problem with the leg (knee) that was operated on. Developed a sore and someone comes every other day to dress it. That’s why he couldn’t make the picnic. He and Anna Lea were sorely missed.
Saturday past, Jettie and her neighbors, Mike and Lisa Conway, came by bring- ing lunch (big mac, fries and milkshake) and guess who ate till they were overfull. Jettie also brought some bananas and some fresh garden tomatoes. Yum yum!
Got a call last night from dear friend Clara Pfister, Clarkston, Mich., and one from Joe Bates inviting Red and me to the Bates reunion which will be held in Wakeman, Ohio, this year. I also had an enjoyable phone visit with Otho and Pat Holcomb, Elyria, Ohio.
This weekend is church time at Little Edna and I’m hoping and praying I will be able to go both days and that Red will feel up to going with me. Sometimes one day out puts him down for a day or two.
Want to say hello to all the precious brothers and sisters and everyone else at Antioch Church. I feel privileged to be able to call you my sisters and brothers in Christ. To all my dear friends scattered here and there, I have been getting some letters in the mail so you will be hearing from me but better warn you, I work at a snail’s pace.
We have been getting some rain and now everything seems to be showing signs of coming alive. Just beautiful!
Haven’t heard from Bill and Redia today so I’m assuming everything is alright with them. Not heard from Catharine and her family, Jeremy and Valerie. I expect Miz Catt to show up here most anytime as it is Thursday. Georgia said if they didn’t go to the Lorain County Fair this evening they would stop by.
Hope I didn’t bore anyone to tears, if so I do apologize. Y’all have a blessed week, be happy, be well and please watch out for the little ones while on their way to and from school. Love and prayers to each and every one.
