SKCTC golf tourney planned

The Lillian Faye Simpson Southeast Scholarship Golf Classic will be held Saturday, June 29, at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course at Cumberland.

The event, which raises money for the scholarship fund at Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College, will get underway at 9:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. The classic is a fourplayer scramble format with an entry fee of $65 per player or $250 per team.

The grand prize, a new car from Creech Motors of Harlan, will go to the first participant who can record a hole in one on the par-three sixth hole. Additionally, the first-place foursome will take home $600, with $400 awarded to the second-place team; the third-place unit will earn a cash prize of $200.

Various prizes and merchandise will be awarded to those who record the longest drive on a particular hole, the straightest drive, closest second shot, and a putting contest will also be held prior to the 9:30 a.m. start.

Gift bags will be awarded to participants, and lunch will be provided by SKCTC Grill personnel.

Registration will be from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m. For more information, contact Tiffany Scott, 606-589-3198 or tscott0024@kctcs.edu.
