In celebration of Black History Month, Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College will present a performance of African-American roots music while chronicling its connection to the Appalachian region. The event will be held Saturday, Feb. 20 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Edsel Godbey Appalachian Center on the Cumberland campus.
Berea College professor Dr. Kathy Bullock will lecture and demonstrate the connection between African-American music and Appalachian music. A reception hosted by the Tri-City Woman’s Club will follow.
