Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College will host the fourth annual Super Sunday on Sunday, Feb. 23, beginning at 2 p.m.
The event will be held in the Edsel Godbey Appalachian Center on the Cumberland campus, and is a statewide initiative involving all 16 Kentucky Community and Technical College institutions, and will collaborate with over 50 churches to increase the college-going rate of students of color.
Southeast will also host a college fair to give information about the school, its programs and information on financial aid and other material for prospective college students.
Area churches to participate in the Super Sunday event include Rising Star Baptist Church, Rev. Thomas Simmons; Dionne Baptist Church, Rev. Luke Day; Macedonia Baptist Church, Rev. Robert Henry; Cumberland Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Dennis Williams; Cumberland Pentecostal Church, Rev. Mike Blair; and Benham Community United Methodist Church, Rev. Jody Vansickle.
The event is free and will include a worship service and musical performances. The college fair will follow the worship service.
