Snow canceled Center’s activities

Greetings to everyone from the Boone Fork Center in Fleming-Neon. We hope you are enjoying these much appreciated warmer, snowless days.

We had our monthly potluck dinner Jan. 14. Our ladies prepared a delicious variety of homemade soups and chili, which was enjoyed by all.

We appreciate Brian Bentley of Community Trust Bank in Neon for bringing a beautiful birthday cake to celebrate the birthdays of Betty Bentley, Charles Sergent, John Wright and Irene Seals.

Debbie Pennington from the University of Kentucky Medical Center was at Boone Fork on Feb. 9. She did charts and blood profiles for our seniors.

She will be coming to our center every two weeks. We want to thank Debbie for doing this program for us at our center.

Our seniors are doing a good job with their daily exercise and walking program.

Our center was beautifully decorated for Valentine’s Day. Our potluck dinner and Valentine’s party was canceled and rescheduled, you guessed it! Because of snow. It had to be canceled twice this month. Lord willing, our potluck will be held Thursday, Feb. 25.

Our February birthdays are: Bessie Tibbs, Bill Blair, Victor Mullins, Ruby Branham and Dee Taylor. God’s blessing on you all.

Glad to see Gladys Adams back with us. Gladys had a knee replacement in November, and was not able to attend until now.

We’re also glad to have Mary Young, Dee Taylor and Lorraine Stidham back after missing several weeks due to illness.

Until next time, we pray God’s blessing on each of you.

We invite everyone to come out and join in daily activities at Boone Fork. You may even want to get in on a game or two of Rook. God bless you.
