Snow causes 4-wheeler wreck

Blackey

Prayers for Glen Hampton of Red Star. He has been in Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital with some health problems and is having a lot of problems. I hope he feels better soon.

Happy birthday to Christian Miller of Blackey. He turned 5 on March 6. He is the son of McKenzie and Beck Miller and the grandson of Billie Miller and Carrie and Phillip Kincaid.

Greg Gibson of Isom spent a few nights in Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital. They said he had a mini stroke. Hopefully he will feel better soon.

Happy birthday to Rosemary Rowe of Blackey. It was on Feb. 28. Racheal Smith of Carcassonne had a birthday March 3, Vada Rogers of Blackey on the 6th, David Eldridge of Elk Creek on the 7th, and Lisa Walters and Bertha Howard of Blackey on the 7th.

Tina Walters of Caudills Branch wrecked her fourwheeler on Wednesday of last week when we got the snow. It flipped over on her and she was so lucky, she just got a few bruises and cuts. I’m glad she wasn’t hurt worse.

Prayers out for baby Addison Eldridge of Blackey. She had to be taken by ambulance last week to the University of Kentucky Hospital. She is having heart problems. She is home now and will be under a doctor’s care so they can find out for sure what it is. She is the daughter of Robert and Stephine Eldridge. I hope she will be okay

There will be an Action Against Substance Abuse held at the Millstone Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday, March 17, at 3 p.m. They need every concerned citizen, which includes all churches no matter the denomination, to get involved in this Action Against Substance Abuse. Everyone is welcome.

My sympathy to the family of Grace Caudill of Elk Creek. She died on March 8. Grace wrote the Blackey News and I took over when she stopped doing it. Grace was 97.

Charles ‘Junkman’ Ratliff of Jeremiah was in a dozer accident over the weekend and had to be taken to Holston Valley Hospital. He has head trauma and hurt his back. I hope he will be okay.
