Sometimes we forget to count our blessings

Cowan

I was sorry to hear about the death of Mr. Tom Gish, who had been the editor of The Mountain Eagle for many years, as many already know.

He and Mrs. Gish have been very kind and respectful to me during the many years I have had my little news column in The Mountain Eagle.

I am sure there were times it would be hard to keep it flying, but it would be right on time. He will be sadly missed in many ways. My sympathy to all his family.

Charles and Juanita Pitts of Tennessee, came by for a short visit while they were here. They wanted to come before the weather got bad. I wish they had stayed longer. He is one of the first grandchildren in my father’s family.

Sympathy to the family of Audrey Day Dorcas of Florida. Audrey was the daughter of the late Tom and Canna Day of Big Cowan. Her sister, the late Madge Day, was married to my brother, the late Burnice Caudill, and we have known the family for many years.

Many of the older families are gone, and they are all sadly missed.

I hope everyone has a nice Thanksgiving. Sometimes we forget to count our blessings. We all have many happy memories over the years.

Love and best wishes to all.
