Kentucky Laureate RHO and Beta Kappa Sororities met Nov. 6 in the Community Trust banquet room for a potluck Thanksgiving dinner with turkey and all the trimmings.
Sorority sisters are fabulous cooks. Linda Clark read a beautiful Thanksgiving poem on friendship.
Laureate RHO gave a generous gift to the Tree of Life and Whitesburg United Methodist Women to help with their gifts to Letcher Manor.
Enjoying the evening were: Vernell Mullins, Ann Bradley, Sally Caudill, Irene Smith, Liz Simmon, Janet Tucker, Lloyd and Shannon Mullins, Sonny and Mahala Frazier, Dan and Penny Combs, Ronnie and Ellen Compton, Ann Estep, Jo Champion, Fred and Cheryl Hall, Lenville and Liz Lee, Peyton and Ann Reynolds, Jerry and Patty Nantz and Earlene Williams. From Beta Kappa: Gary and Lee Anna Mullins, David and Linda Clark, David, Linda and Vicki Setzer, Rachel Breeding, Patty Brown, Patsy Stamper, Pat Nichols, Sheila Swisher, Sue Webb and Joe and Nina Jenks.
We will be traveling to Jenny Wiley Theater in Pikeville to watch Irving Berlin’s heartwarming musical “ White Christmas”, my favorite holiday movie. This is a live performance and I’m sure the music and songs will be fantastic.
Thanksgiving is a time to pause and listen to the sounds that surround us. We are so blessed with the music of life, and love of friends and family. Let’s open our hearts and find our own song of thankfulness for all we have been given.
