Kentucky Laureate RHO Sorority met Oct. 2 at the home of Liz Lee. The fall theme was carried out throughout the home.
After the business session we made candy jars and decorated them in fall and Halloween scenes. A delicious meal was served to the following members: Vernell Mullins, Patty Nantz, Earlene Williams, Ann Reynolds, Irene Smith, Janet Tucker, Shannon Mullins, Sally Caudill, Penny Combs, Ellen Compton, Ann Estep, Jo Champion, Ann Hall and Cheryl Hall.
Oct. 16, 16 members were in Pikeville at the Jenny Wiley Theater to see the play, “Sleep in Safety: The Death of Octavia Hatcher”.
A true ghost story, the tragic events happen in the latter part of the 19th century. Sorority members had dinner at Pig in A Poke.
Oct. 22, Sorority, DAR, and SAR members traveled to J.W. Adams School in Pound, Va., to see the U. S. A. Army Field Band and Chorus. They were fantastic. Patriotism in song makes you proud to be an American.
Let’s don’t take for granted the freedoms we are given and appreciate what others have given up for our freedom.
Enjoying the concert were Vernell Mullins, Sally Caudill, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Banks, Mr. and Mrs. Peyton Reynolds, Mr. and Mrs. Paul D. Adams, Ann Hall, Jolinda Wright and Norma Collins.
