Kentucky Laureate RHO traveled to the Inn at Wise, Va., for lunch on Jan. 19, a beautiful, sunny day. We received a friendly welcome from the staff, and after lunch we toured the hotel. The renovations are almost complete.
The guest rooms and ballroom have been decorated with elegance and comfort, and are so beautiful. The old Inn has wonderful memories and history for a lot of us, and I am sure our future dining experiences will be just as memorable.
Enjoying the day were Vernell Mullins, Janet Tucker, Norma Collins, Irene Smith, Penny Combs, Ann Reynolds, Sally Caudill, Liz Lee, Shannon Mullins, Ann Estep, Jo Champion, Ann Hall, Earlene Williams, Jolinda Wright and guest Clayshan Black.
I received a card from Liz Wise, a sorority sister who now lives in Lexington. She enjoys the write-ups about the sorority. She was an important part of our sorority for years, a great sorority sister. She loved hosting our meetings and parties. Wonderful memories for all of us.
Thanks, Liz, for your kind words, and welcome back anytime.
I received a surprise and honor this week. I am the newest member of the Extension District Board, and on Jan. 30, I was sworn in by Letcher County Judge/ Executive Jim Ward.
I have been in the Extension’s Homemakers since 1964, and look forward to many more years.
