Mother-in-laws are like Adolf Hitler; they are not to be trusted.

There is a video out this week that should be of great interest to people around here. It’s by Alex Jones of www.infowars.com. It’s called ‘Food: The Ultimate Secret Exposed.’ See what’s going in your food supply. That’s the bad news. The good news is you can buy locally grown and organic foods and quit putting so much processed foods in your body. You will be healthier.

I would like to know how the people who are accused of murdering Ralph Marcum got out of jail. The girl is out of jail without bond or without an ankle bracelet or anything. I was just wondering if the whole jail system works like that or what.

There is a new doctor in town in Jenkins from Pikeville Medical Center. His name is Dr. Heath Cook. He is an osteopathic doctor. He tries different things, natural things. He is really great. Check him out.

Thanks to James Wiley Craft. He is a can-do person. Look what he has done for Whitesburg as mayor. He should be an example for the politicians in Letcher County. If something needs to be done, just do it instead of explaining why things can’t be done. Thanks again, James Wiley.

I would like to wish a happy 21st birthday to my nephew Adam Corey Ison on Aug. 12. I love you, sweetheart. This is your auntie.

Brushy Bill, are you still out there? Have you died and gone to heaven? If you have, we look forward to meeting you again one of these days. If you are still out there give us a call. Or did they catch you making that moonshine and send you to Eddyville? Some of us out here are worried about you. Give us a call.

This is to the girl that said she came down to the courthouse and was inquiring about a message that was put in Speak Your Piece about her family: Well, you lied, lady. The people at the courthouse did not tell you any such stuff as far as telling you to go back and keep on burning your garbage. You flat out lied. You should be ashamed to lie to your family, especially to yourself. You lied and you know it. They did not tell you anything like that. Don’t you lie on people at the courthouse. You know who you are. You know what you lied about and you better not let it happen anymore.

To the neighbors that live at the foot of this hill: If you don’t do something to your dog, I am going to call the game warden. I am tired of it coming up on my porch and wetting all over my chairs. I haven’t had any flowers all summer because of that dog and I am fed up with it. If you are going to have a dog you need to keep it in its place. My dog doesn’t bother anyone. I’m not going to put up with yours. If you don’t do something about it I am going to call the game warden. Thank you very much.

Lordy. Lordy, the little baby that drives a school bus for the Letcher County School System turns 40.

To the two good Samaritans that helped a daughter of mine on the Whitesburg Bypass Wednesday between 12 and 1 o’clock: I want to greatly thank you all. The city police of Whitesburg showed no off er to help. The sheriff ’s department, they were two cars behind her and did not off er to get out and push this girl’s car out of the intersection at Pine Mountain Junction. This shows what you people in Letcher County have to live with from the service of your officials. But to those two Samaritans, I want to say thank you so much for the help you off ered her.

If 40 percent of the women out there had a sexual desire of their own, there would no child molesters.

To the lady who put the first comment in the Aug. 4 paper that started out ‘Hey lady, you better open your eyes and start watching your husband a little better’: Would you please be more specific about who this husband is? Where does he work? What type of job? What type of vehicle does he drive and where is he from? I am a Christian wife and I would really like to know if this is my husband.

This is to the husband and his wife: I have told you all not to pay any attention to what she says. She is going to keep coming up with these lies because she knows you are crazy about your wife. Ignore her. She will pay for what she does one day. Some things never change no matter how long you go. It’s still the same thing.

I am calling concerning the comments I saw made by Archie Banks on the Government Channel to the gentleman who was asking for a raise. While I understand some of the points he and Judge Ward were making, I thought it was a total lack of respect on his part the way he treated the gentleman who was asking for the raise. While I support Judge Ward and will continue to vote for him, if he doesn’t calm Archie down it’s going to come over and hurt him and his campaign to be re-elected. He needs to take a little control of Archie and calm him down.

You folks up there in Goose Creek picking on that 92-year-old lady, beware. The Shadow is watching you. The Shadow knows.

It’s Archie Banks’s way or the highway. Sit down and shut up. Come Election Day, Archie Banks, the voters are going to show up and vote you out. Enjoy this term, Keith Adams. You are next.

I wish someone would check out the drug situation at Sergent Loop. If we are not being overrun by drugs, we are being overrun by the cat population.

To a judge who charged someone that doesn’t drink or do anything for public drunkenness: I think you are a rotten judge.

I’m calling in reference to the comment that’s in last week’s paper from the person that was wondering how the lady who was in on the killing of Mr. Marcum got out of jail: Common sense would tell them you get released if you have not been found guilty of anything. I’d say that little lady wasn’t in on that. She was probably at the wrong place at the wrong time. Thanks. You have a great day.

Has Letcher County Deputy Judge Eddie Meade gotten over his mad spell yet? They say he has been gossiping, but is he gossiping the truth?

I would just like to wish a very special birthday on Aug. 12 to Adam Ison. Adam, I know you turn 21 today and I just want to thank you for always being there for me and for being my friend when I needed somebody. I hope today brings you everything you ever wanted. You have a wonderful mom and dad and your whole family loves you. If there is anything I can ever do for you, let me know. I just want you to know happy, happy 21st birthday. We all love you and I just hope today brings you everything you wanted. Bye, baby.

This is concerning the woman that was a little upset about the pastor of her church sending some visitors home over their apparel: She’s made the comment that she might just want to stay at home and read her Bible and worship in the privacy of her home. If she would really like to do that, I suggest that she find ‘The Shepherd’s Chapel’ on TV Service channel 10 out of Beattyville at 6 p.m. every morning. This is a very good service and they do definitely preach the word of God. Thank you.

If you are in need, see Winston Meade.

Keep smiling with James Wiley.

This is to prospective homebuyers in Letcher and surrounding counties: Beware of doing business with a certain mobile home company. They do not keep their word and their follow-up after the sale is practically nonexistent. Three out of three customers were totally dissatisfied with their services. I purchased a home from them in London and they did not include the keys to the mobile home. When I inquired about this, they told me the keys were not included in the contract. I told them that when I purchase a new or pre-owned car from a car dealer it is reasonable to assume that the keys would automatically be included. The attitude was tough stuff deal with it.

 Do well with Codell.

What in the world is wrong with you? Why won’t you communicate with your son and daughter? You hurt them badly when you all went to the graduation. They said you acted like a stranger and wouldn’t talk to them. You have shut them out of your life. You won’t even try to be their daddy. Don’t you remember when they were little kids? That is still them. They have just grown up. They need you in their lives so badly. I can’t believe what is happening. You are letting them down. I never dreamed you would turn out be the person that you are now, because we grew up together. We are still the same people. Why don’t you straighten up your life? You will never have a happy life continuing to live like you do. What if something was to happen to one of us? You would regret that way things are. I am begging you to fix it. Signed your family. We love you. I love you, Papa.

No, my family has not turned against me, scumbag. And no, they despise you, that is for sure. And as for being aware, I would never lose anything to a lesbian like you, trash.

Sunday morning I am sitting here watching the preacher on the T.V. getting down on us people for drinking beer and smoking cigarettes. Well, he is at least 150 pounds overweight. Doesn’t the Bible say something about overeating in the same verse it talks about wine bibbers? I think it does. What’s the diff erence?

There are two ladies that stay on the phone and gossip back and forth all day long. I hope they get cancer of the ear.

This message is to a poor sucker that goes out and cuts grass for people all of the time: Do you really trust your wife at home with a neighbor when you are gone?

I saw in the newspaper where the groundbreaking for the new vocational school was scheduled to happen. I sure do hope they name the new center after Supt. Anna Craft. She has spent much determination and hard work finding the funding to make the center a reality. I can’t think of anyone more deserving to name that school after.

I’m real disappointed because the Whitesburg police said they were going to have a roadblock to check for city stickers. I have not been stopped, but I bought my sticker.

I read where a local official said the water was safe because they tested it. Last year the people at a local café complained about their coff ee having a petroleum scent to it. The local café operator called the water plant, and lo and behold, the whole system was contaminated and had to be shut down. It’s a test that they do on the water, a taste test. What do you think about the testing? The whole system can be contaminated and the water company not know it.

I work at McDonald’s in Whitesburg, and am looking for a female companion. Anyone interested can see me there Monday through Saturday.

With the immigration of illegals into this country getting so much headline time, I was just thinking why and how do these illegal immigrants receive government assistance, such as food stamps, housing assistance and free medical care? If I just look out my door, I can find neighborhood children living far below the poverty level and see parents that are willing to work but have no jobs. I know that we have a drug problem in this area, but also know that there are many who do drugs that are willing to work. Drug addiction is brought on by depression and a feeling of worthlessness. Not all drug abusers are bad people, some are the result of bad situations. Now, back to the point. This is a country of freedom, or is it? We have a Constitution that is supposed to protect our rights but can be amended as the need arises. We have elected officials in local state and federal levels who are elected by the people to work for the people, yet most don’t even know the people. Our state healthcare system has paid out millions in unauthorized prescription drugs, yet many of our elderly and poor cannot afford their needed medication. Social Security and Medicare are among the top when it comes to government waste. The inflated prices allowed for any government contract for services or supplies are far more than enough in themselves to pay for complete prescription drug coverage for every legal school-aged child in this country. Every senior over 55 could have complete coverage for their medications, and no one with cancer or any terminal disease would have to worry about affording treatment. One month of the cost for the private war that George Bush got us involved in would pay for the security needs in our schools. Not one person should be allowed to cause one drop of blood to spill on any soil, either here or abroad, for personal satisfaction. One year of the cost of keeping prisoners on death row in this country could be used to hire teachers in every school in this country. My opinion is, I guess, that the United States can afford to keep up illegal immigrants, but the least they can do is make them all speak our language, pay the same taxes, and stop letting illegal immigrants come into this country, hold demonstrations and try to change our laws to benefit them and their beliefs. If illegal immigrants come here feeling a need to change our laws, they could be better served by staying home and changing those laws. But then again, this is a free country, known as America, no longer the United States, no longer ‘By the people, for the people.’ Our forefathers? Who would have thought?

To the woman on a walker in jail: Your husband sends his love with every word written in this paragraph. I love you. Hang in there, because someday we will be out.

To the sexy woman in doors 9 and 10: If only they would let me through them. I love you, baby. Thanks for the can of Skoal. ‘Ran.’

To the lady who takes care of her stepdad and mom while they have been in jail: We thank you so much. We love you.
