Concerning the lady who drives the blue vehicle and tries to act so sophisticated: Yes, we are aware that you are married. I just don’t understand why you have a hardworking husband and a family, yet you are down there fooling with someone of a different color in a parking lot. You are being watched. And I will talk with him.

.

Thank God for Lehigh. Now UK has a clear run to the Final Four.

.

Social media is really making our world dumber than it already was. The best example is the false outrage of Kentucky basketball fans over the UPS ad that mentions the miraculous shot that allowed Duke to beat UK in 1992. Most of the people threatening to quit using UPS because of this ad could not quit if they wanted. If they did, who would deliver their pain pills to their house. It’s not as if any of the whiners own a business that ships UPS. So really, why should UPS pay the least bit of attention to a few loud-mouthed Wildcat fans?

.

Everybody knows that a certain woman got rid of her husband because he was in bad health. I wonder who will get rid of her when she gets in bad health.

.

To Sheriff Danny Webb and his sidekick, Lt. Brian Damron: When you arrested that guy a couple of weeks ago you arrested the wrong person. Don’t you know that store is still open and selling the stuff? If you were smart enough, you would know that you can buy the same stuff over the Internet. The joke is on you.

.

To the cooks in a deli in a certain grocery store: When you make French potato salad you are supposed to get the potatoes done to a point that you can still cube them, not just peel them and cube them and make potato salad out of them. They are not quite done. They are good, but they are not quite done.

.

To the lady on 932: You have done it now. Your boyfriend has totally destroyed your relationship with your son. He doesn’t even want to ever see you and he hopes they will put you in jail for letting him twist his arm. Anyone can be called Mom, but it takes a special person to be called a mother, not a person who would keep seeing a man who could never be any good. A good man would never hurt a child, but a good mom would never stay with a man like this. But when you start a relationship between a married woman and a scum bucket, I guess you both deserve each other.

.

I hear that wedding bells are going to be ringing for a guy who drives a little Ford coupe.

.

Can anything be done about a man flying an American flag that is nothing but strings? Somebody should tell that boy to take down that flag and replace it with a new flag. He lives in Whitco.

.

The local politicians can’t help me. The police can’t help me. The state police can’t help me. I have been to Frankfort to talk about this little town and the lack of law and order, and the attorney general was really interested in what I had to say. So to all you people who are up and down the road all through the night, don’t think I don’t have your tag number or your picture on film.

.

I just wanted to say thank you to some people who we thought were our friends over the way we were treated at the ballgame over the weekend. They invite you to come to the ballgame and when you come they don’t even speak to you. So thanks a lot.

.

I have been reading Speak Your Piece for a while now and I think ‘Snake Man’ is great. They care about their kids and they are having a good time and enjoying life. For those of you who are worried about how it makes Letcher County look, let me tell you that this place is awesome and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I was born a Yankee and I love it here.

.

I was watching the Letcher County Government Channel and saw recordings of all three city council meetings. Whitesburg and Jenkins look pretty professional. Neon looks like crap. You got people wearing hats backwards and some wearing visors. The meeting is inside a building, and you aren’t supposed to wear hats inside a building. It’s unprofessional. No wonder everyone talks about Neon.

.

We are a local band looking for musicians to get together and try to be the best band in the county. If you want to reach me, I am the lead guitarist Joe. My phone number is 606-434-2215. We are ready to rock. We have everything you need. All we need is the musicians. Give us a call. We will be playing the festivals and having a great time.

.

I am a paying customer who uses city water. On Wednesday, my water was so dark it looked like black coffee. I called the telephone number on my water bill and asked if my area, Little Cowan, was under a boil water advisory. I heard a man in the background say ‘Little Cowan is always under a boil water advisory.’ When I asked if they notified their customers, they said they advertised on the radio. Who listens to the radio at home anymore? It’s a shame we have to pay for water that we can’t use in Letcher County. Does anyone else agree?

.

From this day forward, if I get screwed over it’s going to be on account of my own stupid mistake, not because I fell into some trap because people who say they are your friends and then when you get out in public they won’t even talk to you. And sit around with all of the rich people. I don’t have money but that is just the way it is. That’s it.

.

Until you have been down that road, don’t judge people for the mistakes they have made. Just look at yourself and imagine how would you feel if you had done what they had done.

.

I want to say that Carbon Glow does have a neighborhood watch.

.

This is to the Jenkins Mayor G. C. Kincer: We voted for you to put you in office. You are in there now. You asked for the job. You made promises. Now do like James Wiley Craft did and grab the bull by the horn and get things done. Pass and enforce those ordinances that you promised.

.

To the person who said they had a new woman: I wonder how many new women you have had. I doubt if you could count that far.

.

This is to the person whining about the Whitesburg hospital not getting coal severance tax money: They don’t deserve it. If anybody deserves the money, they need to give it to the ambulance service for the Cumberland River area. Quit your whining.

.

Okay, everybody. It is time again to start slowing down your driving a little bit. The Arabs can’t deal with that. It brings the gas prices down.

.

A stray hound dog wearing a collar has been found at Bill Moore Branch. She is black, white, and brown and has been here about three weeks. Call 855-4328 for more information.

.

Mayor Kincer, you should be ashamed for lying on the man who works at the water plant. I know him quite well also and after hearing you say what you did concerning his second job — which has nothing to do with the City of Jenkins — I have lost all respect for you. If I were him I would seek legal advice about this.

.

I would like to know when the responsible people are going to replace the Cavalier mural that was vandalized on the wall near the Jenkins High School. The individuals have publicly acknowledged that they painted over the mural without permission from the Jenkins Independent School officials. They have publicly stated that they would replace the mural, but it is obvious that they are just stalling. Do they really think the public will forget? Why are they not being prosecuted for this criminal act? Do they think they are above the law just because one is on the Jenkins City Council and the other one is president of the arts council? We the citizens of Jenkins and JHS graduates will not let this criminal act go unpunished. It is past time to get the mural repainted or pay restitution. It cost $800 to get the mural painted circa 2004, with inflation that will be approximately $1,000.

.

Too many of these politicians need to quit whining about wanting to raise more taxes. They need to learn to budget what they have.

.

Medicare is not what is breaking the system. Welfare, which is called Medicaid, is what is breaking the system. Let them pay the same price for their card as Social Security people do.

.

My love for you is timeless. You are my angel and I love you.

.

God made one perfect angel and He made it for me, and that is you. I love you and you are my angel.

.

Magistrate Bobby Howard, we love you too, but you still have some more people over here on Little Cowan and I don’t think you mentioned UZ and Whitco. And I know it was hard to remember everything, but remember us, too. Thanks.

.

I guess everybody knows about Grandma and her neighbor. Even his wife doesn’t care, they say.

.

To a certain person: I don’t need you in my life. I have already told you off and I don’t have anything else to say to you.

.

Parents have to pay out to send their kids to Revelation Ranch. That’s not right.

.

I was driving around Burton Hill at Letcher, where I thought the houses were supposed to stay neat and clean. Everybody was supposed to keep their yards up, with no junking the place up. There are two houses up there that are making the whole neighborhood look bad. There is junk all over the yard and grass has not even been cut in however long. It is just pure junk. I don’t understand how two houses are being permitted to make the entire neighborhood look junky.

.

To a certain person: My love for you is like a circle. It will never be unbroken. I love you and you are my angel.

.

Happy birthday again on April 2. You dared me, but I am going to do it.

.

A long time ago I read the most sensitive and beautifully written passage I have ever encountered. I don’t know if this was in a story, poem or an essay. This is what I read. ‘Not once did she wince and the soft hands of death reached out to comfort this delivered woman in the foothills of the Appalachians.’ Someone please get on the Internet and help me find the source. If you do this you shall gain my gratitude and thanks. Have yourself a nice day. This is the M.P.

.

This is concerning the replacement of the Cavalier that was painted on the railroad trestle leading to the Little Shepherd Theater and was painted over by Terry Braddock at the request of Don Amburgey of the Little Shepherd Amphitheater. Rick Damron, who is on the Little Shepherd Committee, said the committee doesn’t have the money to redo the Cavalier at this time, and said it is a matter between the school and the Little Shepherd Committee. However, the LSAT does receive coal severance funds through the Letcher County Fiscal Court and is dependant on the City of Jenkins for getting water lines run to the amphitheater. In a June 2011 email to The Mountain Eagle, Amburgey said the Cavalier would be replaced. ‘ The Cavalier will be repainted on the rock wall,’ wrote Amburgey. When? If there were monies to paint over it, secure more monies from the same source to get the mural back up. It would be nice if it were ready for Jenkins Days.

.

It has been brought to my attention that Terry Braddock and Don Amburgey cannot find money to paint back the mural. I’d like to hear from Terry Braddock and Don Amburgey where they found the money to paint over the Cavalier mural. I would hope they have not asked the fiscal court to help them out, because the taxpayers are paying for their folly up on the mountain now. I hope they have it painted back soon, no more talk of such a thing as money since both men have enough in their checking accounts as a joint effort to have it painted back. It was a joint effort of both men to have it painted over, they have been told to put it back and they agreed to do it. If not, 80 graduates of the ‘old school’ are ready, willing, to serve lawsuits on both men. Within these 80 are 23 lawyers, 17 paralegals, 15 doctors and other professional people who graduated from JHS. Money is no object to us, we’re united in this effort and our services are free for this project. They should dig deep in their pockets because it will cost them more to fight us than just going ahead and having the mural painted back where it was.

.

Onward Christian soldiers. Our highways, you and me. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. For if ye live after the flesh ye shall die; but if ye live through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Philippians 14:17. I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. Forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth unto those things which are before you will get your needs met and turn your dreams into reality. Put on the whole armor of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against power, against the rulers of the darkness of this world. Against spiritual wickedness in high places. Be sober, be vigilant because your adversary, the devil is as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour (drugs).
