Somebody stole my old coon cage. I wish somebody would bring it back so I can catch and haul off the rest of my neighbor’s cats.

.

I think the people of Whitesburg should vote no on this special election. We don’t want to turn our city into a sin city.

.

Letcher County Sheriff Danny Webb should come to Colson and check out these people who are riding four-wheelers without helmets. One guy in particular rides a four-wheeler without a helmet and travels in the middle of the road. He is going to cause an accident. I think this should be checked out.

.

What is your problem?

.

The other night at the races I got to see my sweetie from Oklahoma. I still love her.

.

I just wanted to give a holler to a friend of mine, Tyler, and to ask when he wants to start working on the Mustang. I see it is still sitting under the garage at his mommy’s house. At least he has the big gray Dodge to drive until he gets it fixed. Let me know, dude, when you want to start working on it.

.

No cigar, loser. No cigar.

.

I think I figured it out. Did you ever wonder where your money went when you paid your taxes? Well, here is something to consider. The Jenkins Independent School System spends almost $1,000 more per-child per-year than the average for the whole commonwealth of Kentucky — about $600,000 more per year. Still, we consistently have test scores way below the state averages. Looks like reading is nine-percent below, math is about 13-percent below, and science is also about thirteen-percent below on the 2011 No Child Left Behind ratings. I think we left some behind, don’t you? Now before you jump on the teachers, I should tell you that not one of them was in Boston, Massachusetts last week with the Jenkins School Board members. Most all of them were at work, with their students. Seems it costs a lot to run all over the country, spending six days and five nights on a trip to a three-day convention And we really do want them to stay at the Hilton, don’t we? I hope to at least get to see the pictures of the wonderful sights in Boston. I will feel so much better. If this irks any one of you school board members, it’s just your guilty conscience talking to you.

.

This is to the lady in the nursing home who was in the car wreck and was in Holston Valley: I understand you need some help getting back on your feet and I would love to help you. If you are interested, my phone number is 633-4708.

.

To drugs: You’ve not only stole my T.V., you broke into my house and disrupted my security and my life. You stole my son. I hate you. I wish you would die.

.

Only in America would Republicans in Congress consider a billion dollar corporation deserving of special small business privileges. Only in America would British Petroleum get money from the government instead of paying taxes. Only in America would the government worry about poor millionaires’ struggles deserving help. Only in America would a presidential candidate who bankrupted a corporation for personal gain be considered a successful businessman.

.

There is friend of mine I was in jail with that lives in Stinking Branch. I haven’t been paying attention to her. I thought she had straightened up, but she is as coldhearted as her mommy is. They don’t care who they hurt.

.

We the people of Linefork would like to thank magistrates Keith Adams and Wayne Fleming for speaking up for poor people about getting good drinking water and bathing water. We would like to thank them.

.

I urge the people of Whitesburg to vote no on this wet and dry alcohol election. We don’t want the prostitutes roaming the streets and the alcoholics Please vote no.

.

If Letcher County needed anything important to help the county as an asset, what would it be? I thought about it for awhile and I have come up with this. This goes to Letcher County Judge/ Executive Jim Ward: Our county desperately needs a center for people to dry out from drug and alcohol abuse. Instead of shipping people outside of the area, we need a place here. There is plenty of property here to do this. We need at least a 40-bed dry out center. That would be a great asset to us. I don’t think there is anything we need more than that. We also could use an abuse center for at least six women. Those are two good things we need.

.

To the little trashy alcoholic that left our trailer court: You left owing a lot rent payment that our family had to pay. You’ll pay in the long run.

.

I’d like to talk about people who shop at all stores in general but Walmart in particular, who are very rude. People who I guess who go there to find their longlost relatives or friends. I don’t know why they go there. They don’t go there to shop. I go because I want to shop in peace and be able to get my items. When you go down an aisle, two or three people are blocking the items you want to get and they are gabbing or talking on a cell phone. If they aren’t going to shop, they need to go back home. If you see someone you haven’t seen in 20 years, go back to one of your houses and have you something to drink or snack. Be courteous of other people who are shopping.

.

I was watching Fox News Network the other day when they had a segment on water wells catching on fire. Fox had the logical explanation for this — defective water wells. When people’s water wells are drilled, they weren’t cased to 150 feet to prevent gas seepage. It wasn’t the fracking done to install gas wells that was the problem. People had just improperly installed their water wells by not casing them to 150 feet, which sounds logical. However, most of my friends’ wells are not 150 feet deep.

.

I just watched the Letcher Fiscal Court meeting on the government channel and we have one magistrate who sticks up for poor people of Letcher County. That is Wayne Fleming. I wish he could be magistrate of all districts. Bobby Howard needs to stick to whatever he did before he became magistrate. This is something he is not cut out for. I’m not sure what part Codell Gibson plays. He is unpredictable. One magistrate won’t talk. One magistrate could be coming around and may start helping the poor people of Letcher County. We may have two magistrates we can depend on. As far as Letcher County Judge/Executive Jim Ward, he needs to forget about Peewee Pack. He should have retired a long time ago. There are better people qualified for that job anyway. And I heard the judge say he begged him to say. Something is going on here. I don’t think I have ever heard the judge beg to anyone.

.

I think The Mountain Eagle needs to apologize to the people who were in the Jeep for falsely accusing us of stealing copper. It was criminal trespassing, for your information. Thank you very much or there will be a lawsuit on somebody. Thank you. Bye.

(The report that appeared in last week’s edition of The Mountain Eagle did not accuse anyone of stealing copper. It said an arrest citation charging suspects with criminal trespassing also mentioned that a Jeep was parked with its light off on coal company property near a 250-foot piece of mining cable that had been stretched out.)

.

I went to a certain fast food restaurant on Thursday and I got breakfast. Their employees are the rudest people I have laid eyes on. The way I look at it, you need to leave your problems at home and not take it out on the customers. You just lost about 15 good customers, because my family will never come back there to eat again. The food was nasty. You need to get some new employees and teach them how to really cook. It was really disgusting. I saw a lady back there who wiped her nose and then fixed a breakfast item. Grow up. That is so disgusting.

.

I’d like to comment about the Swap Shop which I enjoy listening to very much. Occasionally I like to get on there and announce things. You can never get through because Kevin is always talking to this one particular guy about everything. He takes up too much time. I wish they would meet somewhere if they wanted to catch up on the gossip.

.

What is wrong with clean air, clean water and smooth roads? Can any of these things be related to us being the cancer capital of America?

.

I haven’t attended any of the Kentucky Power meetings and I don’t intend to. If we can make it without Kentucky coal, we can make it without Kentucky Power. Yes, it stinks about the 30 percent environmental surcharge to reduce air pollution and make us pay for it. Look what shape we are in now. Look at the coal industry problem. Five hundred coal mining jobs lost in eastern Kentucky. This is a hardship on our region. We need to check on how Kentucky laws are written. The utility is not using its own money. They are going to try to take ours. Consumers are paying for construction and operational cots and Kentucky Power is reaping the profits. We should be entitled to the profits. Our people are already suffering because of the other rate hike. They can’t pay for the last rate hike, the 17 percent. People had to move out of their homes. They are on the street and I can prove this. No power in their homes. Can’t live. The surcharge is nothing but highway robbery and blessed by the Kentucky state laws. It is a bad deal for the people. They ought to pass a law when Kentucky Power starts the rate hike landowners should be entitled to pay for the use of their land. Landowners get nothing but hell. Government is supposed to be for the people not against the people. As long as the people allow this to happen it will continue to happen. They didn’t treat the older generation this way. They knew better than to try it.

.

This is to the stinking, nasty woman and her boyfriend: Now that you all have all that money, why don’t you have some teeth put in his head? Why don’t you get some diet food and lose some weight and remove that thing on your face? Help your child. All you are is trash and that is all you will ever be. Enjoy. Thank you.

.

The mistake you angels made when you were desecrating the garden of evil with your foul mouth and your vulgar language was bringing a third party in on the little tirade and temper tantrums you were throwing. That was your mistake. The third party had done absolutely nothing to you so live with it and suffer the consequences. Good day.

.

I heard through the courthouse grapevine that Speak Your Piece has been named in a criminal complaint. Is this true?

.

I wouldn’t let a married man call me his angel, or at least I wouldn’t believe him.

.

Why do people dislike gray hair? When you get at that age your hair is going to change. What is wrong with the color? What is wrong with gray? So many people color their hair. Who are they trying to fool? People color their hair and they don’t care who knows it. Sometimes the preacher preaches on them.

.

I was watching the fiscal court meeting on the Letcher County Government Channel and I see why Magistrate Wayne Fleming continues to get re-elected. He is gutsy and he doesn’t mince words. His verbal exchange with Don Amburgey hit the nail on the head. Evidence indicates that Amburgey condoned the vandalizing of the Jenkins Cavalier mural and Terry Braddock was just dumb enough to commit the act of painting over the mural, which had become a landmark welcoming all Jenkins High School alumni back home. Magistrate Fleming is right; it was a stupid act. Both Amburgey and Braddock have indicated that they will replace the mural but they did not say in which millennium. It cost $800 to paint the mural in 2004. That is more than $1,000 in today’s money. Why aren’t these criminals being prosecuted?

.

Hello, this is the Reese’s Cup Bandit and I was reading in The Mountain Eagle about the Cocoa Krispie Bandit who is in the jail at East Bernstadt. I was just wondering if maybe someone in law enforcement could arrange for me to be transferred to that jail. Maybe they could put our jail cells side by side. He seems like my kind of a man.

.

I have a complaint. My child is in grade school and when the regular teacher is absent they get these substitute teachers who many times are nothing more than baby-sitters. I wish the school systems would not hire that old woman who lives on Bottom Fork. All she wants to do is sit there behind her desk on her big behind and munch goodies out of purse and tell the kids to ‘be quiet and study your lessons’. And furthermore, I don’t think she should be allowed to sit there and read a romance novel and waste a day of my child’s life.

.

I have a gripe, but I guess that is the purpose of Speak Your Piece. I went into a certain restaurant recently, and I must say they have good food and good service. Anyway, I noticed a new employee was there behind the counter. She looked very young and timid. At first glance she looked sort of pretty until she opened her mouth and I noticed she only had one tooth and it was rotten. If I were running a business, I would specify on the application that you must have teeth. I know it seems cold and I know people like that need jobs too, but if I hired someone like that I would keep them in the back washing dishes or cleaning rest rooms or sweeping cigarette butts from the parking lot. We people here in eastern Kentucky don’t need to perpetuate the stereotypical image of the toothless hillbillies.

.

To a certain widow woman: I have observed how you and your deceased husband were always doing community service work and I admired how you both were always dedicated and unselfi sh in your endeavors. I know you are an honest and trusting person with a heart of gold. I was distressed to learn that you were suckered in by a certain woman to help with her fundraisers. I suppose you may think that because she is a sorority sister she would never do any wrong. She is bad news. She will use you like a dirty dishrag because she knows you are a kind and trusting person, so beware. Signed, I Have Been Stung II.

.

To the woman at school: Why do you keep looking at me? I don’t want to be your friend. You and your nerdy husband act like idiotic hicks. You have serious problems.

.

It’s been seven years since you have passed, Mary Sue. I love you and I’ll see you in my dreams. Your husband, Ed.

.

I was wondering if the Hemphill prostitute got busted. I haven’t seen her since the deal at certain store.

.

It must be nice to have so many new vehicles that you can just loan them out to people.

.

When you go to conservative meetings, the speakers emphasize that we live in a republic, not a democracy. We found that out in 2000 when the man with the most votes wasn’t elected president. Conservatives now want to take away the people’s right to vote for U.S. Senators. This is consistent with the conservative U.S. Supreme Court giving free speech rights to corporations as a person that they still have to get more votes to make a fetus a person.

.

I think every employee in the Jenkins School System needs to be drug tested. By the look on two faces I noticed, something is defi- nitely up.

.

To my mom: You send me cards to say you love me and miss me, but you let your boyfriend hurt me and stayed with him. You broke up our home for someone else. When Dad tried to fix it all you wouldn’t try. You have not treated me like a mom should in a long time. I know you are sick now, but you never left him when he hurt me. I can never forgive you, but you only think of him and you, not me. I will never talk too you again for as long as I live as long as you with him. Good-bye.

.

To a certain person: You are very important to me in my life. I think about you every day and night. And I love you and you are my angel.

.

I’m just calling to remind you that your daughter is an employee just like us and I don’t think we ought to have mothers and daughters working together because the daughter does what she wants to do. I think the mother knows this by now. She doesn’t work. She doesn’t do anything. I think the mother ought to lay down the rules to the daughter. She doesn’t ever work and it makes the other workers work twice as hard. Why don’t you lay down the rules to your daughter and go over them? She is an employee just like us, but she gets treated different. She gets to do whatever she wants to do. All she does is sit on her behind and flirt with everyone who walks in. I think something needs to be done about this, but I guess nothing ever will. And that is why they don’t need to have mothers and daughters working together.

.

To a certain person: My advice to you is the same as that found in the Bible. Bridle that lying reptilian tongue. In other words, put a sock in it. This is the M.P. and this message has been cleared for transcription. Thank you very much.
