I was just sitting here watching the Letcher Fiscal Court on television talking about raising the garbage bill. Why don’t they get out and find out who is paying a garbage bill and who isn’t? Then they wouldn’t even have to raise garbage bills. Each one of them should get in a garbage truck each week and find out who is paying and who isn’t. I live on Low Gap Branch and I have two neighbors who aren’t paying garbage bills. I don’t want my garbage bill to increase. I might start throwing mine in the creek like everyone else. Then what would they do? Instead of raising garbage bills, they need to get people to pay what they owe.

.

Now listen here, friends and neighbors, mothers and dads, aunts and uncles, cousins and all kinfolk. If you give somebody something, there shouldn’t be any strings attached. If they want to keep it, if they want to give it away, if they want to set it on fire, whenever you give somebody something it is theirs. You should not tell them what to do with it after you give it to them.

.

To my baby: I saw you in town the other day, but I didn’t speak to you because you said you didn’t want to talk to me anymore. I will always love you. I will always think about you and all the good things we did together while we were dating. I’ll miss you. Bye.

.

This is in response to the person talking about coloring hair: If I had to color my hair to get a man, I would do without. Don’t you know how cheap you look with that hair color? People know your age. I don’t understand it. What is the point? It washes out. Also, doesn’t the Bible speak about coloring your hair? You do what you want to, but look in the mirror and think about how cheap you look. Remember the song that guy sings about liking his women a little on the trashy side? That is how you look, honey.

.

To a certain person: You need to think three times before you state your opinion. I don’t want to hear it. Please, before you say anything again, think about how you would feel if people said things to you like you say to me.

.

To a certain woman: Your husband is cheating on you again.

.

To a certain person: You make me so mad I could smack your face for the way you act.

.

How do people go buy new cars, new furniture and live really high on the hog after they have filed bankruptcy? I thought when you file bankruptcy your credit was ruined for life, but you see people doing it every day. I would like to know how they do it.

.

I just heard Whitesburg went wet. I guess Obama did that to all of us, didn’t he? What do you think about that?

.

I’m calling about the recent article I read in The Mountain Eagle concerning the county wanting to raise the garbage rates. I’m not against that. I think picking up garbage is a good thing. I don’t think it is right that people ought to pay for others who won’t pay for their garbage. I understand there are some people who have never paid for garbage pick up, and that’s not right.

.

I think when the socalled pill mill law starts being enforced, the politicians should take into consideration that everyone needs their medication. It will also drive up Medicare and Medicaid costs because when a person gets in so much pain there is just one place to go if you don’t have medication and that is the emergency room. All you people out there, young and old alike, who need medication, you need to make your voice heard by writing or calling your U.S. Congressman, your Kentucky Speaker of the House Greg Stumbo, your State Senate President David Williams and Gov. Steve Beshear and let them know how you feel. People that use Facebook need to start a rally cry against House Bill One. I don’t know anything about Facebook or I would start it myself. The law begins July 12. That is when they will start shutting down these so-called pill mills. If you think stealing and robbing is bad now, it will get a lot worse when this bill goes into effect.

.

Two little field mice sitting in a swing early in the morning while the birdies sing. One fell out and the other one said, ‘We’ve been bitten by a copperhead.’ Keep on gawking and stalking. I’m a rattler. I don’t give warning. Keep up your nonsense every evening and morning.

.

Actions speak louder than words. I repeat, actions speak louder than words. Don’t tell me. Show me.

.

If the sheriff and everybody care about people getting killed by drunk drivers, why in the world did they vote to make Letcher County wet?

(No one has voted to make Letcher County wet. By a margin of more than two-to-one, voters in the City of Whitesburg approved the sale of alcohol inside city limits.)

.

To the woman in Coon Hollow: I will always be waiting to take care of you. I would love for you to go on a trip with me on my Harley. Just let me show you what a good life can be. I will always be waiting. Signed, I really care.

.

If you are an elderly person and you are abused and neglected and someone is taking your money, report it to social services for help. Then they become the people that abuse and neglect you. Plus, they will be the ones who take your money legally and you will be let with nothing and worse off than before. Cruel world isn’t it?

.

It’s really funny to me that everybody wants to blame Obama for the mines shutting down and he has only been in office for four years. Mitch McConnell and Hal Rogers have been in offi ce for how many years and have never bothered once to bring in factories to Letcher County or Knott County or other counties that need them knowing how volatile the coal industry really is. There are more people in Letcher and Knott counties that don’t work in the mines than do. There are more people here that could use other industries rather than the mines. Sixteen years of a Republican president and not one factory brought into Letcher County. You had eight years of Bush Sr. and eight years of Bush Jr. I just don’t get it. Do the math, people. You want to blame Obama, yet Hal Rogers and Mitch McConnell go blameless. They are your representatives. Where is the blame?

.

I want to wish my aunt a very happy birthday on July 5. Happy birthday, Poo Poo Shell, love Walker and Isaiah. Love you.

.

I think it is a shame that a person who worked all of his life and can’t enjoy retirement for having to serve on the jury duty when they have a bunch of young ones running around that have never served on jury duty and will probably never have to because they know somebody in the clique to get them off of it. I think it is pitiful myself.

.

Who cares about whose husband is creeping with whoever? You have got to be stupid, because men could care less about stupid stuff like that.

.

This time you are caught in a trap. You can’t walk out. There will be no compromise. Do you understand?

.

That Don Amburgey with the outdoor drama sure has a lot of nerve. He has asked the fiscal court to give him money to have the Cavalier mural repainted on the wall near the Jenkins High School. Why don’t he and Terry Braddock just accept their responsibility and make amends? It was they who vandalized the piece of art and it is they who should replace it. They should take the money out of their own pocket rather than try to bum it from the fiscal court. The folks in the school system have been more than patient while Amburgey and Braddock try to stall and dodge their responsibility. They may as well accept the fact that this issue is not going to die.

.

I am writing to say that I am glad for the Speak Your Piece as it is apparently the only news media that will print the truth. Some newspapers I write will not because it seems they have forgotten that we here in America have the right to freedom of speech. Our society would rather believe lies than the truth. We know this is true because they always believe the lying politicians about global warming. Global warming is a lie, Genesis Ch. 8, Vs. 22. While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter and day and night shall not cease. I believe what God’s word says, not some heathen politician. It is a sad time in America as these politicians are destroying our nation.
