To my 15 kids: I love every one of you all.

Is Grandma still chasing little brown trucks around? I think she should know there are more brown trucks than just the one she thought it was. I think everyone knows what is going on with her and her neighbor. Kinky stuff.

.

A man who goes to the Boone Fork Senior Citizens Center had better watch a certain woman. She is getting ready to shake his apple tree.

.

I don’t understand Lucky 7 races. Saturday before last the races didn’t even finish. They had one race before it was cancelled because of the fog, which is a safe thing to do. I understand that. It’s not fair to the fans that you aren’t giving them a rain check. I think you should give the ones who have their tickets a rain check. PS. There was a wonderful little lady singing the National Anthem and they were letting her in free for singing. They don’t do that anymore. She has to pay. That’s not fair.

.

I want to wish a girl who works at Mountain Motor racetrack a happy birthday. I haven’t forgotten her. She is my little Oklahoma sweetheart.

.

All of us senior citizens should be aware of Mitt Romney because he wants to cut Medicare. He wants to cut food stamps and Social Security. No student loans for college kids. He said we should let the students borrow the money off of their parents. Well, our parents are not rich like his parents were. We just better be aware. He is hiding his money in the Cayman Islands and Switzerland and these foreign banks. He has not paid any taxes in 10 years and he made $20 million last year. I think the senior citizens and all Americans need to be aware of a man who is this crooked and this deceiving. When you go to the polls, you better think before you vote.

.

To a certain person: You asked me what my chances are when I stand in front of God. Well, I know who you are and I am telling you in plain English that your chances are slim and none. And I wouldn’t even ask. I wouldn’t wonder about anyone else’s case, you should wonder about your own.

.

If you really want to help the kids, why not sell all of those horses instead begging for horse feed and stuff? Make sure the children have food and clothing at home. That would do more good than feeding horses.

.

This is for the fellow with the out-of-state plates on his car who keeps emptying his ashtrays out in the middle of the road at Pratt Branch: I’m going to whip you or I am going to report you if you don’t quit doing that. That is nasty, emptying out your ashtray in front of everybody.

.

I just want the whole world to know what God has done for my husband. He was eaten up with cancer and is now cancer free, but he is in the hospital with pneumonia and infections. His family was called in the night before last because they said he didn’t have a chance and wouldn’t live through the night. I went up to see him today and he is breathing on his own. I would like to thank everybody who has prayed for him. Keep on praying for him, because I know what God can do. This is a miracle and I thank God for it. If it is God’s will, I will bring him home. I love my husband better than anything in this world besides God. God is number one in my life and I thank Him for what he has done for me and my family and especially my husband. With the faith I have, I know he will walk out of that hospital. There is not a doubt in my mind. Thank you. Signed, Kathy.

.

To a certain person: Talk about a freak, you look like a big, 400-pound baboon who has been shaved.

.

How come our wives are always sick, always hurting but always ready to go shopping? Why is it they just turn their backs on us with no affection?

.

I think a certain restaurant in Whitesburg needs to change its sign. To make an old-fashioned hamburger, you need an old-fashioned pickle.

.

Revelation Ranch is not a ranch nor should we support it as such. They now have to relocate again with no one to blame but themselves. When at Calvary they had no bills. All they had to do was respect others’ property and submit to a minimal amount of accountability. All they had to do at the barn was pay an electric bill each month and be honest. They won’t do it. In just the last three weeks they have moved their camper and horses on three different properties, each time being asked to leave. The editor said last week to check with the board of directors for financial accountability. That would only be record of money reported. The children on the drama team are being used as puppets. There is lots of control and manipulation that goes on behind the scenes. This is written to families considering letting their children partake in the activities or to anyone thinking of supporting them financially: If you want to know the truth, ask anyone who has lived with them, tried to help them or supported them only to be kicked to the curb once you dare question them on their beliefs, their ethics or their money.

.

Hi, 50/10. Love is going to make it all right. I would love to see you. V.A.C.

.

To a neighbor in Whitco: I would appreciate it if you would put those stinking dogs up that you have running in the street. I’m tired of getting out in my yard and cleaning up where they have used the bathroom. If you don’t put them up, I am going to call the dogcatcher and have him come and get them. Every morning they have messed behind my car and I am sick and tired of it. Put your dogs up. I have a dog, but I don’t let it run around messing in everyone’s yard.

.

I am calling about a road that is supposed to be a county road going from Haymond into Neon. There are so many weeds beside the road that the weeds are brushing the sides of the cars as they drive on the road. Maybe the county can get someone to get someone to mow those weeds and make it safer to drive through there.

Spa rky ’ s Last Resort. Sparky’s Last Resort. Sparky’s Last Resort. Sparky’s Last Resort.

.

Remember when Fox News led the war against the Dixie Chicks because they had the nerve to criticize President Bush for his decision to go to war against Iraq? How come the same mouthpieces at Fox aren’t demanding that we break our Hank Williams Jr. CD’s now that Bocephus has called President Obama a Muslim who hates America? Is it a double standard or does Fox realize there wouldn’t be any CD’s to break since no one has been buying Hank Williams Jr. music for many years now? Wait a minute. I just a read a little riddle that sums it up perfectly: What has 100 arms, 10 teeth and an IQ below 55? The front row at a Hank Williams Jr. concert.

.

In response to the gutter slut comment: I’m not the one who has been having kids since I was 15 and has had to go to the courthouse to have DNA tests to see who my kids’ dads are. So if you want to talk about a gutter slut, you better look in the mirror.

.

God does not make angels for a man if he is a man. My angel is a beautiful woman. That is all God makes is beautiful angels and they are all women.

.

I was here, but now I am gone. I left my name to carry on. Those who knew me knew me well, those who didn’t can go to hell. Forget you. Forgot you. Never thought about you. Wouldn’t waste a pen and paper writing all about you. Stare at the wall and face the cross. Speak Your Piece, I dare you to print this. This is the M.P. and I approve this message.

.

I don’t know what tomorrow holds, but I know who holds tomorrow. That’s my angel and I love you.

.

Parents, if your child is loud, obnoxious and disrespectful at home, you better bet they also act that way at school. This behavior is difficult for staff and faculty as well as disruptive to the other students in the classroom. If you don’t get control at home, you can’t expect the school staff to come to the rescue and save the world. Most likely the behavior at school is learned at home and accepted at home. Guess who little Johnny takes that attitude after — you. When you grow up and become a responsible, non-arrogant adult, your children have a better chance of becoming normal. Monkey see, monkey do. Can’t blame the child. Arrogance is a true sign of insecurity. Quit passing it on. Teach your children manners and stop the bullying too.

.

Janet, from one nosy neighbor to another, rumor has it you won’t let your brother cut those weeds above you. You ought to be ashamed. That’s awful. Stacy.

.

When will the schools serve food that is truly worth eating and healthy? Wonder how many at the board office would eat lunchroom food daily? Not all that is free is good or good for you. What happened to the great cooked meals from the past? Soup beans, soup, spaghetti? This processed food is killing us.

.

This is in reply to a comment of July 4: Part of the quote, ‘Everyone wants to blame Obama for shutting down the coal mines and he has only been in office four years. Mitch McConnell and Hal Rogers have been in offi ce many years and never bothered to bring factories to Letcher or Knott counties. There have been 16 years of Republican presidents and no new factories, Bush’s eight years and Bush’s eight years.’ Being a little history buff, here are a few contradictions. President Bush served eight years, President Clinton served eight years, President Bush served eight years. Sen. Mitch McConnell was elected in 1984 and Rep. Hal Rogers was elected in 1980, just for the record. I understand Rep. Davis is retiring. Maybe the writer should move to the Fourth District with his apple crate and make some changes. The last point, Governor Beshear is into his second term. Oh, he didn’t bring the Governor into his letter. Why? Have a great day and a better next day.

.

What ’s up, Letcher County? J. Bates here, just wondering how all my family and friends are. Hope everyone is doing OK. I’m chilling in the Bullitt County Detention Center in Shepherdsville, Ky. The address is 1671 South Preston Hwy., Shepherdsville, Ky. 40165. Someone drop me a few lines, let me know what’s up with everyone. Take care, everyone. Jazz.

While I was working in the flowerbeds in the front yard recently, my neighbors stopped to chat as they returned home from walking their dog. During our friendly conversation, I asked their little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be President someday. Both her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there. So I asked her, ‘If you were President, what would be the first thing you would do?’ She replied, ‘I’d give food and houses to all the homeless people.’ Her parents beamed with pride. ‘Wow, what a worthy goal,’ I said, ‘but you don’t have to wait until you’re President do that.’ ‘What do you mean?’ she replied. So I told her, ‘You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and trim my hedges and I’ll pay you $50. Then you can go over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out and give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house.’ She thought that over for a few seconds then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, ‘Why doesn’t the homeless guy come over and do the work and you can just pay him the $50?’ I said, ‘Welcome to the Republican Party.’ Her parents aren’t speaking to me anymore.

(Your story would have been much better if you hadn’t lifted it word-forword from a mass e-mail that’s been going around for many months now and is entitled ‘A $50 lesson.’)

.

For people with AT&T Internet servers: I guess some of you are without service. At least I am and have been without for six days. That won’t last much longer because I have a new provider. But it’s not just AT&T’s lack of service or slow response to whatever has the service down that has caused me to change. AT&T only wants to go where the population is. Even the DSL they offer to those of us on rural areas is the slowest they have. I would hope the fiscal court or the public service commission would force all Internet and telephone providers to offer everyone the same service which would include fiber optic lines as part of their franchise agreement so they could transmit television as well as other signals. I’m not holding my breath.

.

To my Prince Albert : Bring Little Yellow to your hiding place. Your girlfriend will never know. She believes anything. I can’t believe you said you feel bad for doing her this way because she is sick, but you keep meeting me.

.

To the Speak Your Piece contributor who was critical of Romney’s wealth: My advice is to become educated, work hard, save your money, and some day you might be lucky enough to well afford a nice doublewide.

.

Buckets and lids from that spill of mine sealant are still strewn along 119 on Pine Mountain. The litter warden should investigate this. Also, we need the road department to do something about the situation where the creek cuts back against 806 and is causing the road to crack and slip and the mining company is driving those big loaders on the road. Are we waiting for it to completely collapse and take down a school bus loaded with kids? Clean up the garbage. Fix the road.

.

The situation of children playing in the middle of the road in the Camden area of Jenkins is terrible. These kids are blatantly unconcerned with vehicles traveling through there and don’t even bother trying to get out of the way when someone is coming. What kind of parents not only allow their children to play in a highly traversed street but also do not teach them to be weary of vehicles? These kids continue to ride bikes or play ball every time I go through there and so it becomes my responsibility to veer, dodge, and sometimes wait while they decide to either get out of the way or not. The worst are the ones on bikes. They continue to ride right towards cars or beside them within mere inches of these cars and it’s like an obstacle course trying to manipulate my way through there. I really do blame their parents though, because it’s up to parents to teach and instill caution and common sense into their children. Parents in Camden are obviously failing miserably at that.

.

To the man I met 22 years ago: I’d love to get together again. Please Respond in SYP. We met at the GP. Let’s meet again. Let me know when and where, but bring a more dependable vehicle.

.

Happy birthday to Chaser, whose birthday was on August 21. We love you.
