Friends and neighbors, just because we will vote against Obama here doesn’t mean this man won’t be re-elected as president if we don’t work to get our message out to the people in the other states. We can drive around with all the ‘No Obama’ signs on our trucks that can be made, but it doesn’t mean a thing here in eastern Kentucky. Get on the telephone or on Facebook and ask your friends and family in other states to vote against this unqualified fool. Obama will lose 10 to 1 in Kentucky, so it’s Ohio and a few other places like that where we need to be getting our message. These educated fools in this country are killing us. I can’t believe they’ve put a man like this on us for president.

.

It seems to me that whenever there is a major theft, and most thefts are major to someone, sheriff ’s deputies should be swarming those junkyards looking for the stolen stuff. This has been going on with the copper telephone wires, etc., for several years now. Did it take something as appalling as graveyard robberies to get some action? I personally find it hard to blame the sheriff and his deputies for the crime wave though, because it must be demoralizing for them to keep arresting the same people time after time and seeing them freed by an apparently very generous court system. I don’t think anyone is very optimistic about the economy in Letcher County and when some of these addicts lose their income, well, we ain’t seen nothing yet. If this court system doesn’t tighten up we can look forward to a lawless society.

.

I’m not voting for Obama or Romey either one for president because bot men are against coal. We all know what Obama said four years ago about coal-burning power plants and how they would be put out of business. Well, Romney said something just at bad or worse when he stood in front of a power plant in the northeast and said these exact words: ‘I will not create jobs or hold jobs that kill people, and that plant, that plant kills people.’ And so many people here in our mountains are still going to vote for Romney? I understand not voting for Obama, but what makes Romney any better? Both candidates are in bed with the gas industry.

.

What does everyone think about this certain medical professional talking about drinking and wanting to buy beer in Whitesburg and getting tired of going to Virginia to buy beer? Wake up and think about who is treating you. They could be drunk on the job.

(Seriously?)

.

How many children will see their parents high, live without basic necessities, and ultimately repeat this process as adults before social workers and child protective services step in and give these children better homes?

.

Attention parents of District Four. Do you want a school board member who cares and will stand up for your school? If you feel as I do, the answer is yes. Mendy Boggs is the one I feel will do this. She has a vested interest in becoming your school board member, as she has children enrolled in Letcher County schools. She has been highly vocal in keeping Arlie Boggs Elementary School open and she will do her best to fight for this school to stay a part of our community.

.

On Friday, September 21, my son and I placed a new solar-powered cross on my husband’s grave at Green Acres Cemetery. We went back on Sunday, September 23. Someone had stolen the cross and had stolen the solar lights we had over his tombstone. I don’t know who got that, but God knows who they are. May God have mercy on their soul.

.

How can someone who just turned 16 with no permit and no license be allowed to drive up and down Craft’s Colly Road and never get caught for it? It just doesn’t make any sense.

.

Dear Speak Your Piece: Why in the world would anybody vote for Steve Beshear? He caused your power bills to go up, and now he has screwed up Medicaid by letting three insurance companies who don’t want to pay people like ARH Hospital. He has caused ARH to lose $22 million. If they pulled out of Whitesburg with nearly all of our coal mines already shut down by Obama, Letcher County would collapse economically. I hope the people of Ohio, Virginia and Florida get to read this. You are next with complete annihilation of your economy.

.

I think everyone knows why a certain woman doesn’t burn any lights after dark. It’s because she doesn’t want to show her filthy face.

.

I’m just concerned about an accident that happened down there at Premium at Holly Bush the other night. One of the boys got his legs all messed up by a coal truck wrecking. If anybody knows anything about it, would they please reply in next week’s Speak Your Piece.

.

Here is the latest on LCCHS football Coach Paul Rains. He has been telling his players that their dads are nothing but deadbeats, alcoholics, drug addicts and divorced. I think Paul Rains needs to go back where he came from and never set foot upon the hill again.

.

I was reading the grand jury report in The Mountain Eagle where Buddy Sexton was indicted again. I wonder what they are going to do about the Brown man at Dry Fork and the Webb boy at UZ. I saw where they had been indicted and I have never heard anything else about it.

.

Judges should be appointed, never elected. Electing them provides a bias toward the lawbreakers because they often have large families who vote. A few judges are honest and strong enough to not be influenced, but not many. Electing judges also means that many get in office because they are skilled politically, but have almost no legal facility. I believe most would agree that there are lots of these. Since most legislators are lawyers and happy with the situation as it is, we are probably stuck with this ill-advised law, so the electorate must be especially careful in who they elect.

.

Us men here at the Boone Fork Senior Citizens Center all know the women here are crazy about the old gentleman who drives the blue truck. I think he lives at McRoberts. We can’t get in a word with any of them, but they are crazy about him. I don’t know what he has that we don’t have, but it sure must be something.

.

To a certain man: If I hear you curse the way you did in front of my kids and yell and scream at the woman the way you did today, then your behind is going to jail.

.

To the person who wanted to thank Speak Your Piece for providing them the medium of communication so the individual could communicate his thoughts to a certain couple: Well, most people use technology like personal computers and text messaging in this day and time. Of course, you are probably too stupid to operate a computer or too stupid to send a text message. We would rather be laughed at than laughed over. Do you understand that? They say those who laugh last are those who think the slowest. Do you remember the Alamo? But most all do you remember the boat that blazed in the night? Remember that because shortly afterward you buried part of your young family’s life. I believe you can thank me for part of that little story and then see if you have reason to laugh. I don’t think you have any reason at all.

.

Revelation Ranch needs more horses than children. They can get more horses than they can get kids.

.

President Obama is blamed for coal miners being laid off. This is not true. Coal companies are losing business to gas companies because natural gas is cheaper than coal, thus we don’t need as many coal miners. While my heart goes out to the unemployed miners, we must think how important it is to not elect Mitt Romney. If we think it is hard to live on unemployment now, wait until Romney is elected and see how much worse it will be then with no unemployment, no SSI, no Social Security or food stamps or Medicare. Please educate yourself before casting your vote.

.

To a certain person: I just wanted to let you know he can’t meet you anymore. He has a date on the other side of the mountain, so don’t worry about your Jeep being there. Worry about the other side of the mountain.

.

There isn’t a point in me calling, because you all can’t print what I really want to say so I will try to keep it G-rated. I’m past the point of caring if Obama is re-elected. Now I am to the point that I want him to get re-elected so when this world is just a burnt out shell I can hold all liberal, tree-hugging scumbags responsible.

.

I think it’s time we accept the fact that coal is not going to come back in any signifi- cant way and not waste our time in protesting. It’s an exercise in futility and our energy should be directed to other ways of making a living. Natural gas has become overwhelmingly favorable to US industry and the rest of the world and that is becoming more obvious every day. General Electric just announced a new technology which promises to make natural gas cleaner and much more effective and has already seen over one billion in sales. Other companies are hard on their heels. President Obama and the EPA are really not relevant in this equation. It’s a matter of supply and demand, and ease of extraction. We have many opportunities here. I believe the horse trail is a good idea. Kingdom Come State Park, Bad Branch Falls, and many other areas could become big tourist draws and new hotels would provide jobs. In any event, let’s not waste any more time trying to bring back the past and get on with practical efforts.

.

Why did they present a check to the public school system for the area technical college? They are not part of the school system. The building is owned by the county board, but the employees are paid by the state and they make more money than the school board employees.

.

To a certain woman: You kept your big secret from your ex-husband for 30 some years, but when he found out he didn’t have the stomach to even sleep with you anymore.

.

Heading toward a democracy, that is what you said, Mr. President. And we are a democracy that they are heading for. Do you think those radicals want a democracy? This just shows how smart you really are. And about Mohammad, they don’t want us to mention his name. I’ll tell you where we are from. If a man took a six-year-old or a nineyear old girl and made her his wife we would shoot him right between the eyes, prophet or no prophet. You all put that in your big, old crack pipes and smoke that. If you come toward me with a sword or knife, I’m going to kill you.

.

I think a man with a certain dog needs to quit stalking this woman. She told him that she didn’t love him and I think he just needs to leave her alone or else.

.

I wonder if Romney will be wearing his magic underwear for the debates. He’ll need it.

.

If a certain person will call me I will tell you who has the four-wheeler and trailer and where it went. You know who I am.

.

It is amazing that some coal miners have become so enslaved by the coal companies. They believe anything their coal daddies tell them and take a stand against black lung legislation and safety laws. I know the education system is bad here, but come on you guys.

.

This could be the ultimate call regarding your condition. To make this happen you must get off of my case and stay off of my cloud. To help you determine the outcome of your situation, which of course is up to you, ask yourself this question, was it worth it? Stay cool and be happy. This is the M.P.

.

I want to give a big thank you to the Mountain Heritage Festival Committee for having Aaron Tippin at the festival this year. He put on a wonderful show. Again, a big thank you.

.

The Mountain Heritage Festival was nice this year, but the weather had the attendance for the parade down. It was fun to watch the politicians scramble to suck up to coal miners after they all supported the gas companies in the past. It’s a wonder the politicians didn’t rub a little coal on their faces.

.

To a certain person: I really thank you for being my angel. I love you.

.

Barlow Lake Road in Neon is supposedly a public road. For the last week I have tried to get access to get to the cemetery, but I can’t get access to get up there because now there is a gate that has a lock on it. Who should say who couldn’t go visit their lost loved ones? It is a family up on the hill that is locking the gate. The EQT gas company is locking the gate also. What should someone do about this? For the past week I have driven up there every day trying to get up there. It is a long walk. I can’t carry a Weed Eater and a lawn mower to clean off my mother’s graveyard and my father is disabled. He can’t get his wheelchair up the long hollow. Will someone please respond and tell me how I can solve this matter. Has this become a private road? No, this can’t be a private road because there is a still a cemetery up there that my family is buried in. I want the gates unlocked now.

.

We here in America have the freedom of speech, and we can speak out against the evils that are done by our politicians. We need to stand up and speak our piece and let our elected offi cials know what we stand for. We the American people have voted against men lying with men across our nation, but yet our ungodly lawmakers have not listened to the American people and are trying to force their abomination agenda on the American people. Now listen, God does not hate the sinner, neither do His people, but God hates sin. Jesus died for sinners, but if sinners don’t repent of their sins and turn from their evil ways then they will open their eyes in eternal hell where there is weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth. God does not cause you to sin and the devil cannot force you to sin. If you are a sinner then you have chosen to be one because you have rejected Jesus. To go to God’s heaven you must go through the door. Jesus is the door. Buddha cannot forgive your sins. Mary can’t save you. The Muslims can’t forgive you. If you pray to anything other than Jesus Christ, then you are committing idolatry. When Jesus saves you then you won’t want to sin anymore.

.

It was interesting to read the article about the study that showed that Romney has a big lead in rural America. Romney doesn’t even now where rural America is, and he darn sure doesn’t care about the people here. He and Princess Ann must laugh about that while they sit home in one of their many mansions. The really interesting thing is that rural people like Democratic positions but don’t like Democrats in national elections. I wonder how much that has to do with the 1964 Civil Rights Act. You know folks, Republicans supported it too.

.

There is a scripture that seems to me that best describes

President Obama’s speeches. It is found in Ecclesiastes 10:13. Quote: The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness: and the end of his talk is mischievous madness. Apparently he is not in touch with reality, as nothing he says makes any sense or it is a flat lie to promote his abortion agenda. He says it is a woman’s right to choose, but what choice does the child have? I hope and pray that this President Barrack Hussein Obama will repent of his sins and be born again.

.

I’d like for Christian men and women to remember Michelle Murphy in your prayers. She’s a very close friend and my sister in the Lord. Also remember little Obrey. She’s Samantha, our niece’s, daughter, and Corey, her boyfriend’s child. She’s 14 months old and just got out of the hospital from having pneumonia. She’s been in five or six times already. Moving right along for the month of October birthdays: Big D, also Gipsy Brashears, our friend Kendall Boggs on the 26th. That’s all. Thank you, Stanley Pack.

.

In support of Romney saying that over 40 percent of the American citizenry does not pay federal income tax — the truth hurts. A Scottish professor by the name of Alexander Tyler said in 1887 ‘that a democracy will exist until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury. With the results that every democracy will finally collapse over loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.’

.

I have a voice, so I’m going to use it. First off, all you ever hear from people is complaints about Obama. Well, however bad of a job you think he has done running the country, it would be ten- thousand times worse it that rich pampered baby of a man Romney gets voted in. He has no idea what its like to have real problems. I’m 23 years old and I’ve been homeless more than once. I’ve known the pain of real hunger. I’ve felt the cold bite of freezing temperatures in the night. I know what real hardship is and I’m not a lazy person. I’ll give anybody an honest day’s work for honest pay. I’m unemployed because of the lack of jobs, so I do a lot of odd jobs and do my best to get by and survive. I am truly thankful for what I have, unlike some of those too-good-for-you hypocrites. But I digress. If America votes someone in as president office that doesn’t know what real hardship is, then they are asking for more trouble. And if that person is Mitt Romney then I will be ashamed, and I repeat ashamed, to call myself an American.

.

It is very confusing to know that a person who calls themselves bornagain Christians could support a candidate that is for same-sex marriages. Barack Obama is not only for samesex marriages, but he is proabortion as well. All of you so-called ‘he-men’ should consider our president supporting the gay community.

.

To the person who called in last week to agree with Mittens that the 47% are all moochers: You should think a little deeper. The soldiers fighting for you in Afghanistan are exempt from paying income tax on their combat pay. You just dissed them. Babies, not having jobs or incomes, don’t pay it. They are the most dependent of all and don’t feel a shred of guilt about it. That young woman who flipped your last fast-food burger while making minimum wage and collects in a year what Mittens draws in three days of interest on his investments in the Cayman Islands doesn’t make enough to have to pay income taxes. What a freeloader. A lot of old people who paid income taxes all their working lives but are now retired don’t pay it. They’re just leeches on society. But even the working poor still pay property taxes, state and local sales taxes, payroll taxes toward Medicare and Social Security, and other taxes and fees. But the good side of Mittens’ decision to alienate them is that now they’ll be better informed how to vote. Except for the babies, who don’t have any say in what political will be affecting their lives.

.

To my Prince Albert: I understand I looked at her pictures on Facebook, and I can see you are unhappy. I understand you feel sorry for her. I still hope we can keep meeting like we are.

.

Hey, Willard. You know that big lead in the polls Barry has over you? Yeah, you helped build that.

.

I wonder how many of the fundamentalists who support Romney know anything about his religion. Mormonism was started in the early 1800s by Joseph Smith, a con man and pedophile. He claimed an angel showed him the location of magic plates that only he could translate. They concerned Jesus Christ visiting the American Indians and other exotic writings. Smith was lynched after he proclaimed plural marriage, which was a cover up for his lust for young girls. Romney’s great grandfather moved to Mexico so he could practice polygamy. The Mormons wear magic underwear, believe God lives on the planet Kolov, and have lots of ultra secret upper levels in the church. They believe anything a ‘prophet’ says is the word of God and that Jesus is just the oldest of God’s children. They also practice baptizing dead people. Romney is high in the Mormon councils yet he conducted some of the most vicious business practices in history. Is this the kind of person we want to lead America in this time of Republican-induced crisis?

.

I believe Danny Webb and Edison Banks are honest, competent, and effective. They make a good team. I also am convinced that their efforts are often thwarted by officials who are not competent and effective, and who provide immunity to certain individuals who carry on a consistent career of crime. There is little doubt in my mind that the officials and criminals will someday be caught — very likely by the feds — and I hope it comes soon enough that the county doesn’t get completely mired down in crime. The crackdown usually comes when arrogance overcomes caution. These crackdowns come in cycles, and some of us remember them well. Some of the miscreants probably remember them, as well. A few are still around. Several nearby counties have been blessed by this federal intervention very recently. Let’s all hope and pray that we may be next.
