Wake up, Letcher County. Jesus is coming back. All these early snowfalls and earthquakes we are having and all of the turmoil and all of the wickedness and sin that is going on, the Lord is getting ready to come back. It is time to wake up and get right. It is time to be saved. It is time to live right.

Let me be one of the first to applaud and endorse the criticism of UNITE. Truer words were never spoken, and we have never had a greater waste of money than that used to fund what is nothing more than a publicity machine — a highly paid publicity machine. I also endorse the legalization of marijuana. That is being accepted over many parts of the country and will someday be universally accepted. Have faith in Kentucky, though. It will almost certainly be the last to grudgingly accept that prohibition doesn’t, and never has, worked.

.

To a certain man: Why are you not the man I love? You are everything I say you are.

I would like to make a comment. This is my first time calling Speak Your Piece, even though I read The Mountain Eagle each week. I would like to know if somebody could comment on how they could consider the charges against Mr. Wright, the Isom scrap yard owner, to be misdemeanors. It looks to me like buying the grave markers and all of the other charges against him would be a federal offense because they belonged to the veterans and were given by the government. Please explain this. Given that Mr. Wright pleaded guilty and only had to pay a $500 fine plus court costs, we all should open up a scrap yard. We won’t have to keep any records. We won’t have to pay in cash and we’ll become rich. I think if that had been any of the rest of us, they would have put us in jail and thrown away the key.

.

If all the UNITE salaries and maintenance funding were turned over to the sheriffs throughout the area how do you think that would work? I think there would be a great improvement in all of the areas in which UNITE has involved themselves and failed so visibly. The sheriffs could relax a little about the constant problem of working with a miserably inadequate budget and focus instead on doing what they would like to do, which is providing their counties with greater safety and a better lifestyle. If you agree, let your state representative and senator know, and ask them to pass this on to Congressman Rogers. For that matter, let him know that his police force is a failure, and that we should return to the same enforcement system that is used throughout the rest of the country — an enforcement system that is apparently a lot more effective than his.

The Mountain Eagle comes through once again. After spending the night in Atlanta last Tuesday after traveling there to watch Kentucky play Duke, I woke up Wednesday morning looking for a story about the game in the Atlanta Journal- Constitution. Not one word about the Wildcats versus the Blue Devils was in that paper. After arriving home Wednesday late Wednesday afternoon, I stopped to buy a Mountain Eagle and was able to read all about the game I had driven six and one-half hours to see. Bigger is not always better, at least where newspapers are concerned.

To a certain person: Drugs have fried your mind. You are wasting your time hunting, searching and tearing my car up. I do not use drugs. I do not sell drugs and I do not haul drugs. I feel sorry for you. Your mind is fried and scrambled. I don’t feel sorry for you either.

.

To a certain woman: Did it make you happy to go out on your husband before you divorced him? Now you can go out with anyone you want to go out with.

.

Am I the only person who thinks this doesn’t sound right? A man and wife live together and his wife dies. When she passes away the daughter who he helped raise moves in with him. They are not a couple though. Something does not sound right with this. Am I the only person who thinks this?

I go to the Boone Fork Senior Citizens Center for lunch and it seems like all of the women hang around this one gentleman from McRoberts. I just wish some of those women would hang around me like they do him. They just love him to death.

I’m still missing a black Chihuahua with a white chest. He was limping on his back hind leg. He may or may not still be doing that. There is a large reward if he is returned. His name is Kibbles. My telephone number is 634-6910. He has been missing for two or three months now.

These people on Social Security disability should stay home and draw their social security and let the other people who are out of work have that job. I turned in videos of two or three people working at a certain garage just the other day. They used to work at a garage on Highway 15. The Social Security board said they are going to check into it and have an investigation. They told me you are either able to work or you are not. I just hope something is done about all of this fraud that is going on.

I personally think if you put anything on Facebook like talking about how great you are in church and how you work for the church, then show an evil side in public, there is something wrong there. You need to look into your heart and see why you have such hatred.

It amazes me that a school hires a coach who is known for dating young students. Beware.

A few weeks ago I wrote Speak Your Piece concerning Mitchell Wright before his indictment in connection with buying bronze markers stolen from the graves of veterans. I my writing I quoted from Mr. Wright as telling others that he has a big family that votes and enough money to keep the police and politicians from bothering him. It now appears he was right. He was indicted but was quickly allowed to go free after pleading guilty to misdemeanors and paying a minimal fee for court costs. He paid less than those in this county who get caught with an open container of beer and are charged with public intoxication. It even appears he also gave prosecutor Edison Banks a kick in the rear by getting the case settled before the commonwealth’s attorney even knew about it. Now here is my opinion: This has been just another common case of an elderly man letting greed get him caught after years of considering himself as the mayor of Isom since he has just about ruined the whole area with trash and junk and several EPA violations. He has proven he has the ‘clout’ to get cleared of what would have been serious charges in another town or county. He either buys the stuff at his scrap yard knowingly and with greed of money as intent, or is so senile he doesn’t need to be running any type of business. I would like to close on him by quoting a comment made by a famous pastor: ‘I have never seen a U-Haul following behind a hearse,’ meaning you can’t take it with you. Now I will also give Harley Slone his due. He is not very smart and got the idea to steal the grave markers from another associate of his who had stolen some in the previous months and sold them to Wright. Harley is also a drug addict who has been on drugs heavily for the better part of a year or more. It is my leaned opinion that Harley is a narcissist, a psychopath, and most definitely a compulsive liar. He needs to be locked up with Wright in the next room. Without a buyer for the bronze, there would not have been a seller. You can’t have one without the other. Slone’s excuse is he’s drug addict and Wright’s excuse is he’s addicted to money. And so go ‘The Days of Our Lives’ in Letcher County. I do so hope this is read by the woman from the Hazard TV channel that came to interview Wright and got threatened with being shot. Anyone else who threatened a reporter like this would have already been arrested and charged with terroristic threatening. So again Wright reigns in Letcher County. Long live the king.

Hey, Mr. Sexton. You remember when I lost the use of half of my left leg working on your coal truck 13 months ago and you told everyone that you didn’t have any insurance and that I couldn’t get blood out of a turnip? Well, did you go back and tell everybody that I got a little farm in Tennessee and cashed a check for $720,000? Guess not.

.

Our courts are throwing us to the wolves. The people that we elected and are paying high salaries — our neighbors — are letting us down. Our greatest danger is not the coal layoffs or the economy, but the lawlessness. I think the coal crisis may be bottoming out and that the economy could improve, but we aren’t going to get outsiders to invest in an area that rightfully scares them away. How could we expect industry to come to a place where they wouldn’t have reliable phone service, where any metal they use is likely to be stolen, where their families would be in danger, and where the offenders enjoy a revolving door legal system? The tourism office seems to be doing a good job, but they are faced with the same problem. When persistent felony offenders walk freely about after violating good people time after time .all order has been lost.

.

To the wonderful little person in my family who is being molested by another family member: You have no reason to cry. You didn’t do anything wrong. They are the guilty ones. He molested others in the family and raped. You should expose him like they did. You should confront him like they did. You would feel better about yourself. You aren’t guilty of anything. You are a victim, but don’t let them continue to make you a victim. You are a wonderful person. Expose the trash.

.

I’d like to invite everyone to the church on Thornton Hill. I was up there a Sunday or two ago and I heard some wonderful messages there comparing today’s living in this generation and what it says about the end times. It is right on key. We all need to hear what God says in the last stage. Jesus is coming soon and real soon.

.

I’d like to wish my mother, Lola Wilder, a happy birthday on Friday, November 23. Mom, we all love you. We hope you have a great birthday and are around for many more. We love you.

Streetside Bar and Grill needs to realize that people go to a sports bar to watch sports, not to hear really bad music. I hear they are not even showing the fights now, and if you go to watch to the UK game you are going to have to listen to a bunch of live music you don’t want to hear just to be able to watch the game. They really need to figure out what their customers want and stick with that.

.

To the Republicans: You need to stand strong on immigrants. Stand strong on abortion. Stand strong and don’t back down. Mr. President, you think people don’t know when you are lying? People watch you and know your actions and your lies. We are not a stupid bunch of people. If there were ever grounds for impeachment, I am hoping that you have got them. The only reason they don’t impeach you is because there isn’t anyone else to put in there right now. It’s just wrong to lie to the American people like you did. We can understand about the CIA running places in that country where they are not supposed to be, but you could have saved those four people’s lives and you know it. I’m still whistling ‘Dixie’. God bless America. You can kiss my ass. Liar! Liar! Impeach him. Impeach him.

.

Why can’t Alpha Natural Resources and Enterprise Mining do something about their trucks that are hauling on Kentucky 15 from Knott County to the Premium exit on 15? You can’t get behind them or they will run over you or try to pass you. If you get in front of them they will try to run over you. I don’t understand why something can’t be done about it. After several calls to the Department of Transportation, Kentucky State Police and the Letcher County Sheriff ’s Department, nothing has been done. It is just a matter of time before somebody gets killed on this road because of these fools. Something needs to be done before a bad accident happens. It’s just a matter of time before someone gets killed from this reckless driving from these truck drivers.

.

Letcher County’s courts have released a host of persistent felony offenders who are now running around like hand grenades with pulled pins. They are doubly dangerous because they are now convinced, if they weren’t before, that they are immune from the law. No one is safe, at home or on the road, because of this generous attitude of officials we are paying to protect us. So two of them are going to have to pay $11,000, huh? I wouldn’t hold my breath for that one. Those of us who have had to go without phone service for months, not only inconveniencing us but also putting us in medical jeopardy, are disgusted with the indifference and ineptitude of those responsible. I don’t know how the sheriff is able to maintain any morale among his offi cers after the courts have their say. They certainly must know that they are always in harm’s way, that they are always vulnerable, but that the criminals they risk their lives to remove from the community are not going to get any punishment, and that anyone arrested will soon be out looking to get even with them.

To a certain person: Your love lights my day. You are my angel and I love you.
