I’m still missing my black Chihuahua with a white chest. He answers to Kibbles. He went missing September 10. I have a $200 reward for any information leading to his return.

.

I think they should close all of the senior citizens centers. When they take trips some of them jump up in the best seats when people a lot worse off need the good seats up front. I guess the best thing they could do is close all of the centers.

.

To a certain principal: What is it? You like to pick on gray-headed women and young kids? Are you just scared to pick on someone your age and your size? Are you afraid they will just tell you like it is? You better watch what you do because God is going to bring you down. You are only building yourself a pit you are going to fall into. I feel sorry for you and your family.

.

I think us honest people should get together and take up a petition to get a new principal at Arlie Boggs Elementary School.

.

It is pretty well known that UNITE has the highest salaries in the state. What I would like to see is their entire budget. I think in this time of intense arguments and analysis of state and national budgets that such data would be timely. Their efforts seem to be counterproductive, and in some cases an actual hindrance of law enforcement and proper medical drug treatment. Their budget information must be available. How can we get it?

.

To a certain woman: God forgives you for being a slut.

.

Why divorce your husband if you are going to turn around and live with him.

.

To the guy who lives in Jenkins who drives the gray SUV with University of Tennessee stickers all over it: What it is about the University of Kentucky that you don’t understand?

.

I wish Jenkins had a Little Caesar’s Pizza located here so we wouldn’t have to drive all the way to Whitesburg.

.

To a certain little redhead: I know you are seeing someone and I know you think everything is all right. When I come home I am not going to stop until I get you back. That’s a promise. I am sorry about your mom dying. I really am. I loved her, too. And I am sorry for what I did. I really am. I want you back and I won’t quit until I get you. I love you and you know I will. It’s a promise.

.

To a certain person: I want you to know how special you are to me and I miss having you in my life. Please take care.

.

I think it is a shame the way Letcher Manor Nursing Home does some people. I’m the one who has to be out by 5 p.m., while other people can come in there after 5 p.m. to visit with their families. I think that is a dirty shame. Someone needs to check into that.

.

To my H.B.: Remember the little Christmas ornaments we made out of matchboxes and Christmas wrapping paper? That is the most beautiful Christmas tree that I have ever had. Signed, if I could bring back time. Merry Christmas, my one and only true love. I will die with you in my heart.

.

A certain preacher is having an affair with his sister-in-law. I think it is a disgrace to the church that they are carrying on so.

.

You definitely better watch if you sign papers with a hospital. If they end up getting something wrong you can’t do anything about it.

.

To a certain person: You better be careful when you point your fingers, because I know the things you have done, too. You haven’t been perfect. You have sinned. You have committed adultery. You have done things, too. So don’t point your finger at me, because you don’t know that I know these things on you. You better be careful.

.

Anyone with a complaint about the courts can contact the Judicial Conduct Commission. A complaint about prosecutors can be addressed to the Kentucky Bar Association. Unethical or illegal fiscal court actions should be reported to the Kentucky Attorney General, Kentucky Auditor, or Kentucky State Police. Information about the court systems can be obtained from Administrative Office of the Courts. Any of these agencies are readily available on the Internet, along with guidance on how to report wrongdoing. Recent complaints in Speak Your Piece would certainly seem to justify reports to one or all of these.

.

The biggest dope dealer in Letcher County lives in Woodrock. He and his family are also defrauding S.S.I. and food stamps. Talk about fraud and dope dealing, this is pitiful.

.

To the little blonde lunatic: Is he not keeping you happy now?

.

I want to thank those who work in the kitchen of the Boone Fork Senior Citizens Center for saving bottle caps for cancer patients. Thank you and keep up the good work.

.

To a certain person: I do know now where you are going at night and I do know that she is a lot older than you. I think you need to stay at home before it all gets out, because I do know what you are doing.

.

I think it is great that Grandma has bought her a house where she can show her face and not be ashamed.

.

I think they should close all the senior citizens centers. They closed ours. I went to Ermine and now there are too many people who want to run the show up there. They have a quilting room and we don’t even have an eating place. Jim Ward, you sure are treating the seniors differently.

.

I think this country is moving in a different direction with high cost and high spending and debt up to our eyeballs. That is the new way. I am worried about it. Whoever took us in this direction, I want to make sure they get credit for it.

.

It looks like the 69-yearold man is cheating on his little girlfriend. He is talking to a lady in the Neon or Whitesburg area now. The little girlfriend needs to keep an eye on her man.

.

I want to make a comment about the kids who were at the skate park in Whitesburg on Saturday. My six-year-old son has decided that he wants to rollerblade and skateboard. Rollerblading has come first. His dad took him to the park and there were some kids there skateboarding and they were so nice to him. One boy even allowed my son to use his skateboard, which he has never done, but these kids were so nice to my six-year-old trying to show him things and let him use their skateboard. I felt like I needed to call and put that out there because things are so different these days and I just wanted to say that these kids were so wonderful with him. They were not rude or disrespectful. They were absolutely amazing. Good job, guys. I really appreciated it and I wanted people to know.

.

I think the Judge/Executive’s offensive comments to the lady trying for better water were completely out of line, and that he owes her and the county an apology, and an acknowledgement that he is paid by and works for the citizens. Anyone who will take the trouble to attend court meetings and address important issues doesn’t deserve being insulted.

.

Here is wishing a merry Christmas 2012 and a happy New Year 2013 to Ashley and Brayden, Mike and Betti, Jamie and Ariabella, Mickey and Heady. To Louise and Luke, Anita, Buddy. To Jim-Jim, Jayden, and Curty, Shane and Two Bets, Anita, Amari, Gale, and Martha ringing her chainsaw bell. And Merry Christmas and happy New Year to John and Ella and Peter the great. You all have a good one. Don’t forget the whole year through Santa Claus is watching you. You, too, Rudolph.

.

Be careful who you talk to if it is the city. They like to talk a lot. Be careful.

.

Every time I try to go outside my house in Whitco, my neighbor’s three dogs try to bite me. Put those dogs up or else.

.

Just in case you are wondering, I am divorced and live in Virginia. I work at a hospital in Norton. Now you know how to find me. I just can’t stop thinking about you.

.

There was a woman on Facebook bragging about what her mom has done for her and her kids. Her mother should be good to her, but that still doesn’t make up the way she did her kid as a toddler. She put bruises on her face. Beating a child in the face says what kind of mother she really is.

.

I was sitting here thinking of the great words people have used that I have enjoyed reading in The Eagle all these years. Everett Vanover writes about all the great people in his past and the wars. Relon Hampton the same. So I would like to share my feelings about another great and good man. He lived in Cromona in Letcher County. His name is Virgil D. Allen, my late husband. Virgil didn’t curse, steal, lie or do or sell drugs. He worked hard seven days a week to support his family and to teach them right from wrong thing to do. He knew he was leaving his name to his only son to carry on the Allen name for a lifetime. They worked many years side by side. And my son to me was like George Washington. He never did tell his daddy a lie. So he always used the Bible verse to let them know how he felt, Isaiah Chapter 57 V. 14. Don’t be a stumbling block, Mother. Proverbs 22:1, A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favor rather than silver and gold. With our 53rd wedding anniversary coming up is why I’ve been remembering the things he used to do and say. Other verses he liked included John 3:16, Matthew 7:3-4, Matthew 7:1 and 6:3, Mark 11:23, Romans 8:31, Proverbs 20:9, and Ecclesiastes 3:1, To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heavens. 4: A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance. 6: A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away. He would say be a mountain as a radiant Christian. You can influence, motivate, have compassion, highly developed talents, high ideals, a well-furnished mind, and most of all a very good purpose. This nostalgic look at those wonderful lives he contributed to the Allen family are good memories. My doctrine is not mine, but Virgil’s looking back and ahead. Your life is God’s gift to you. What you do and make of it is your gift to God. Virgil has eternal life now and would say and I want to also. God lives you and may He bless you always. Happy wedding anniversary, Virgil D. Everyone that knew Virgil knows I didn’t lie. Thank you, Gennieve C. Allen.

.

Merry Christmas to Kenny Pack, Colene, Kathy and boys, Janet Collins, sons, Charlie, Amanda and theirs. I love you all. Jesus loves you all so much more. Let this sink in, please? It’s no time to pout and hold grudges. We all need to get prepared to meet the Lord. He’s coming back, ready or not. Thank you, Stanley Pack.

.

I am writing to let people know about some good preaching and singing that is still on the radio. Our people need to wake up and realize that the Lord is soon returning and they need to repent of their sins and ask Jesus to save them so they will be ready to meet God. Jesus said ye must be born again. Please listen to the following broadcasts, 101.1 FM, Hazard, at 3 p.m. Sunday, 107.1 FM, Hindman, at 10 a.m. Sunday. Jesus will soon return.

.

I would say probably 80 percent of the people vote their officials into office based on their lies that they care about the people and care about justice. It’s a joke. Sounds like to me all they care about is money and power of the clique. Take the scrap dealer, for example. They make a big deal over one drug addict stealing grave markers. What about the phone line thefts, the railroad thefts, the gas company thefts and people stealing cars off the side of the road? My neighbor’s car was stolen after it broke down on the side of the road. It ended up at Mitchell Wright’s scrap yard. Police found it there. What was done about that? All these slap on the wrist deals are only allowing drug addicts a means of gaining money if people like Mr. Wright are allowed to keep on receiving stolen property and preying on someone’s sickness. You want to help your people of Letcher County, try helping your addicts. If there weren’t any drug addicts, there would be no drug dealers and if there weren’t a buyer of stolen goods, there would be no thefts. So don’t blame your sick, blame your clique. If you care about your people, then get the Slone boy some help. I’m glad I’m not from Letcher County.

The news about two weeks ago about cutting senior citizen center funds should be a warning bell to all of us who use them. They are very important because they not only provide good meals, they offer company and recreation and that’s about the only chance some of us have for them. They are like a second home to us and we are comfortable where they are. We don’t want to be moved or bussed, and we will fight any attempt to change them. There is plenty of waste to cut and some of it is a lot more than what the centers cost. All the fiscal court members, and anyone else who tries to tamper with the centers should remember that we have the highest voting percentage of any age group.

.

Anyone who is frustrated with UNITE, and there are apparently many, should write or call the offi ces of Senators McConnell and Senator Paul, and should contact their state representatives and senators, as well. The time is right to get rid of unnecessary funding for unnecessary organizations. A lot of worthwhile and needed functions are going to be cut, some probably severely, so agencies that aren’t needed should be deleted completely.

.

I just saw the news that this same Blackey/Roxana area that has been under siege by copper thieves for years has been hit four more times. Is anyone surprised? The courts have almost endorsed their actions and they have no fear of the law anymore. Just don’t get to thinking that these thugs are going to confine themselves to stealing phone lines. Anything and anyone is vulnerable.
