A man travels miles to see a lady in Kentucky, expecting to see a real nice and pretty lady. He spends his time and gas money, only to be ashamed of what he saw when he got there. It was the shock of my life. I saw an old woman who had posed as a young girl. I left and I won’t be back. I hope she knows that. So whenever Kentucky has a beautiful woman on Facebook, I’ll beware.

.

This is to the women of southeastern Kentucky: If you are interested in a man, please be honest with him. When you are on Facebook, put your own photo on it. Don’t pose as a young teenager and have a man come all the way across the country to visit you only to find your weren’t what he saw in the picture on Facebook.

.

To those who own a certain store: I know your family really well. You come from a good family. I’m wondering why you allow a druggie to be a cashier at your store. Either a fight will break out or money will be stolen. I’m disappointed in you.

.

There are two places on this earth that I really love. Number one is Mount Zion of Jerusalem, the throne of the great coming King. And number two is Neon, Ky., my hometown.

.

I was just calling to give all good Letcher Countians a little bit of a warning. If you buy anything, whether it be a used vehicle or whether it be from a yard sale, if it doesn’t have a ‘headlining’ at the top of the receipt the feds will put your butt in jail and will tell you that is not proof that you paid for it or bought it. Without the proper receipt it doesn’t belong to you.

.

Isn’t it funny how they’ll let people escape out of prison? The feds want them and they say they cannot find them. I just cannot explain it. I don’t know where they are unless they are hiding them out.

.

To a certain woman who now lives at Whitco: Honey, you are the biggest mistake I ever made in my life. I wish I had never fooled with you from day one. I’ve got what I want right here at my house, two of the prettiest little girls ever plus one pretty wife who has put up with a lot of crap from me for nine years. I did her wrong on that day and you know I did. You lied to me just as well as I lied to you. I’d rather go live under a rock with a bunch of slopping hogs than to have anything else to do with you. I mean that, too.

.

I love you, Jayden. I love you, Katelyn. I love you, Miranda. And I love you, Sabrina. I love you all. Please forgive me.

.

I want to make a comment about the City of Jenkins, the mayor, the council members and their socalled friends. One end of Jenkins is like ‘Peyton Place’ and the other end is like ‘Days of Our Lives.’

.

If you want to hear one language misstep after another, listen to the teachers, administrators and all but one board member in the Letcher County school system. How could they attend school for eight, 12 or 16 plus years and not learn how to speak correctly? It’s a sad reflection on the teachers. This may or may not be the M.P.

.

Something pretty bad is going on in the City of Jenkins. It seems like the citizens can’t get anything done. First of all, the mayor has his own people working for him, including his new wife as the city clerk. His father-in-law is a pro-tem mayor and his ex-wife is managing the swimming pool in order to get insurance. The mayor also is now living in Virginia. Mayor, you are doing pretty well right now, but something has to happen. This can’t go on forever.

.

High school football season is here. With all due respect to Kevin Day, he needs a new partner in the broadcast booth. He needs someone who is more courteous to his partner. Someone who is a little better versed in the English language and someone who doesn’t try to coach from the booth. Father-in-law or no, Headhunter must go.

(Larry Hatton is the ‘color man,’ which means it’s his job to add spice to the broadcast, including offering a suggestion or two to the coaches. In our opinion Mr. Hatton does a fine job without pretending to be someone he isn’t.)

.

This is to the person who put the comment in the paper about the fat, redheaded woman in church with jogging pants and stripes down the side and a big sloppy shirt: Just who do you think you are? You are nobody’s judge. The lady was probably there for the right reason. Why were you there?

.

It’s really creepy when after I walk by a certain little old man’s house he jumps into his monster pickup truck to compensate for his inadequacies and drives around looking for more chances to drool over my legs. It would be just as creepy if I were a woman.

.

Over the weekend, I kept up with a post on Facebook that stemmed from an article in The Mountain Eagle

(Sorry, but The Mountain Eagle isn’t responsible for anything on Facebook if it isn’t something we generated on our own page on that site. You identified and attacked two people for commenting on actions by the Letcher County Board of Education. We’re pretty sure they would be happy for you to join their conversation.)

.

To the little boy in Cowan who put a comment in Speak Your Piece advising the woman on Cowan to keep her nose out of his business: You think I am a miserable soul? You know my husband is sick and can’t stand loud explosives being put off next to us. I’m a very happy person, but you must the miserable soul since you have to get out and waste rounds of shells like you do and have to blow up something to get your kicks. It is my business, because you are disturbing the peace, shaking my house and upsetting my husband who is sick. I don’t care if you are on your own property and that your neighbors who are closer don’t complain. That’s not the way I hear it, but that is them and they are all family. I didn’t call the cops for no reason. I called because you don’t have the sense or the decency to respect someone who is sick and stop what you are doing. I believe in the right the bear arms too and there is nothing wrong with shooting your guns. When it comes to blowing up something and disturbing my neighbors and harming someone who is sick, you need to stop and have enough respect and decency to stop and not do it. Did you ever consider your little girl and her being there and how it affects her hearing and what damage you could do to her while you are having your fun? You best stop the explosives or whatever it is you are doing, because I will put a stop to it. I would really like if you could have some consideration for your neighbors if you have enough of a brain to do so. If not I’ll if I can find something through the law that can put a stop to you.

.

Hey, Mitch ‘The Abominable No Man’ McConnell, repeal your own health plan.

.

To a certain person: Why do you help tell lies on me, then text me like you have done nothing wrong and act all innocent? It isn’t anything new to me, though. I just laugh about it. It doesn’t bother me any.

.

I think the IRS and the sheriff ’s department ought to be investigating a certain restaurant. Everything they are doing is wrong. Those guys are getting by with cash, cash, cash.

.

If I was a certain pastor and I was sticking to the story that I couldn’t find a job, I would ask my friends to refrain from getting up in front of the church and telling everyone he had me a job at $26 an hour. Furthermore, he is no better than the last pastor that was there. He actually worked two or three jobs. People seem to work jobs and pastor churches. If you are only in it for a payday you might want to think about that.

.

To the person with the homemade remedies: I bet your back is bruised all to pieces from your patting yourself. Wow, you are really something.

.

In regards to the old A&P building in Fleming-Neon that you call a junkyard, it may be an eyesore but you’ve got to keep one thing in mind — it helps to feed a lot of poor, underprivileged women and children in this area. We have nothing else. The town is dead. If it wasn’t for this place a lot of people wouldn’t eat, maybe including yourself. So unless you have a decent building you want to donate, try volunteering for a couple of days and maybe you will change your mind.

.

Tell us who the Hemphill hooker is. There are a lot of them. Tell us where she lives.

.

Description of ‘Where the Heart Is’: Mother and daughter go to Florida on vacation and leave Dad to fend for himself. Actually the heart is in the insurance policy. You know who you are, disgrace of the human race.

.

I’ve got a message for a few of the people at Little Cowan. These people walk around acting like their feces doesn’t stink. A couple seem all right, although I just moved here recently. For the most part, they want to act like they are better than everybody else. I just really can’t wait until Jesus comes back. He is going to take a giant crap on all of their heads and figure out that we are all just filthy rags before God and Jesus. I just really hope I get to see that day that these people who sit and judge others get to stand in the one true judgment. All of these people who think they are going to go to heaven and think they are good people are going to be really surprised. This is really a message for everybody. Everybody one day will realize what he or she has done on earth and be reminded how they have judged and looked down on their fellow man when really they were the piece of garbage. I can’t wait for the end of time. It’s going to rock.

.

The baby that died on the table at a previous Letcher County Board of Education meeting could have possibly been revived at the board’s last meeting, but alas the school board members decided not to accept the voluntary CPR that would have saved the baby. So much for breathing new and exciting life into the Letcher County School System.

.

I read in Speak Your Piece where it said ‘Hey man with the big red truck. The best way to haul a hog is in the back, not in the cab with you.’ Will you please reply and tell me if you are talking about just an ordinary pickup truck or an 18-wheeler?

.

What is wrong with members of the Letcher County Board of Education? It seems they can accept donations for anything except to enhance educational opportunities for our children. Some of their comments make me wonder if they have ever been inside a classroom. The statements that the law and justice program was dependent on a prison in Letcher County were just plain stupid. This program would have provided students opportunities with any law enforcement agency, any court system, any justice activity, any parole enforcement, background checks, research and legal assistance for attorneys. I could go on and on. How a prison got in this mix is just beyond me.

.

The members of the Letcher County school board are making a very strong case for some kind of testing before you can be a candidate for school board. Maybe it should be like testing for PVA candidates or circuit court clerk candidates. The school board members don’t seem to know what their financial responsibilities are. Maybe they should look at what they are supposed to do within the next couple of meetings. That is to adjust the tax rate to increase local support. The public will support the schools if you just ask them to. Shut up and do it.

.

I have a comment for the person who called in about the ‘goggle-eyed, bobble head woman who keeps turning around in church looking at somebody’ and also to the person who says nobody likes this woman who sits by herself at church for the way she treated her mother: My theory is if you go to church, you are not there to judge someone. You are there to listen to the preacher and the sermon, not to judge or be judged. You might want to look at yourself before you look at someone else.

.

Happy birthday to Jean Anne Collins. Your friends still love you even though your family doesn’t speak to you.

.

To the editor: With all due respect, I believe that you are wrong about the Trayvon Martin case and Zimmerman. I believe there isn’t nearly as much coverage of all of the other murders and mishaps you are talking about. Every now and then you will hear a fleeting thing on the news, but nothing like this Zimmerman trial. It was all over TV and totally monopolized the whole evening TV was nothing but Zimmerman. It just has everything to do with a political agenda. I don’t think Zimmerman had a right to be following the young man in the first place, but it’s clear the boy attacked him and overcame him physically. Zimmerman had a right to carry a gun and managed to get it out and use it, so be it. I feel bad for Martin’s family, but maybe they should have taught him better.

(I should have made it more clear that I was talking about coverage in newspapers and not television. I quit watching the agenda-driven cable news programs many months ago, and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Time is better spent on just about anything than watching the loudmouths on Fox, MSNBC and CNN. Join me and just say no. You’ll be glad you did.)

.

Perhaps all the people who sit around in church and wonder where someone is looking and how they are dressed and who they are sleeping with shouldn’t be there.

.

To the cat killer: I’m sorry you are so bored and don’t have anything better to do, and just totally hate innocent animals. I don’t understand it. And as far as coyotes killing dogs, yes, they do sometimes. I used to have a dog that actually killed coyotes. Coyotes are actually pretty cowardly compared to a good dog. I actually have a dog I’d like for you to try to kill. I hope somebody catches up with you soon, buddy.

.

Midnight Phantom, keep up the good work. I love it.

.

This goes out to the person who made the comment about the woman who asked to talk to the owner of a store about something her infant needed: It’s sad to say, but it’s not other people’s responsibility to take care of your child. It is yours. It is not the government’s responsibility or anyone else’s. And we do live in the richest country in the world, but a large majority of Kentucky is poor for a reason — because nobody will work and nobody will bring jobs in to give people the hours they need. People need to get out and work and get off drugs and take care of their own children and not beg a store for help. If a store just opened their doors and listened to every violin story it would have to close down. It is up to you to feed your own children, not somebody else.

.

To a certain person: There is no backbiting to it. I just say what I am told. The point is you need to keep your nose out of my relationship because you don’t know what you are talking about. Worry about your own.

.

Bartender Bob always asks what’s your pleasure and can we entertain you.

.

I guess everyone has learned the reason a certain woman is selling her home. She is going to move away and change her name so that no one will know whom she has been with and what she has done.

(A little jealous, are you?)

.

To whom it may concern: The workers at the apartments in Burdine really need to control their foul language. There are children and elderly people around. They need to use more respect. They are public workers. They need to watch their cursing and tone of voice. They don’t care what they say or whom they say it to or whom they say it in front of. It would be nice to not hear all of that bad language.

.

Does anybody know where the school board can buy gavels in bulk?

.

I heard on the news that jailers in another county beat a man to death in jail and made another man leave his home for 30 days just because a neighbor was afraid of him. Must be a new law. I sure hope they don’t have that law here.

.

Well, the gay world has exploded, which is none of my business, but I have friends and family, husbands and wives, boyfriends and girlfriends. The way they talk to me they are having what we would call homosexual relations, yet they go to church one or two days a week. In the eyes of God are they any better than the homosexuals? Personally, I don’t think so.
