My wife is about as lovable as a wet mop. When we go to bed it is like sleeping with a wet mop. I think I’ll try the broom.

The new Jenkins television station could be very nice if it was utilized. It would have been nicer if they’d announced the garbage pick-up schedule for the holiday. Well, never mind, I guess I can keep my garbage for another week. I don’t suppose it will spoil in this cold weather.

.

I’m calling about Ohio State football. I am just absolutely amazed that they are ranked second when they haven’t played anybody. They don’t play any ranked teams. They have won 23 straight games. How many of those were against a top-10 team? They don’t play anybody. They played Illinois two weeks ago and allowed that team to put up 35 points against them in the second half. Then they nearly were beaten this past weekend by Michigan.

Attention all parents at Martha Jane Potter Elementary School: If your child is in a certain teacher’s class and they say the teacher is screaming and hollering at the children and being uncharacteristic of what a teacher should be, it is happening and I would move my child. They say this teacher was once great, but apparently is now burned out. Protect your children. Don’t let any teacher holler at them or treat them unkind.

A Letcher County man who recently lost his woman to another man spent his Thanksgiving with his family and so-called friend. He is such a slob and bully that I don’t think he can stand himself. I hope he had a happy Thanksgiving while his soon-to-be ex-wife was with someone else.

.

People of Letcher County, please listen to me. Don’t let these pastors empty your pockets every Wednesday and Sunday. When he comes in and throws down his Bible on the pulpit and picks up a notebook he is going to tell you what he wants you to hear. When he preaches about giving 30 to 45 minutes, he wants you to pay for his lifestyle. People, don’t be deceived. Read your Bible. God did not send out beggars. All of this debt free junk is for him to stay debt free. I have seen pastors use church credit cards in Tennessee and Lexington to do their Christmas shopping. And do you know who pays for their family’s Christmas? You. Don’t be deceived, people. One day God will be behind that pulpit judging them.

.

To the lady who lives on Coon Hollow: The man you’ve had for 30 years, enjoy it. It will soon be coming to an end.

.

This is to the little jackass who lives in Jackhorn. You came over here and got $25 off of me. When I see you, you are going to wish that you paid me. You read me, boy. You know who you are. You better get in contact with me.

.

Well, the story goes on. Charlene Cook Pierce and Henry Hall have been caught and they are lodged in the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Abington, Va. Voila!

.

Is it a crime to be a superintendent of a coal company and possess a disabled hunting license?

.

Matt Jones, why are you talking about the actions of the mayor of Toronto and now the actions of a former mayor of Lancaster on your sports talk shows? Are the actions of these mayors sporting events? Oh, wait a minute, their actions are similar to the sport of curling. You have to sweep up the pathway for both. Sorry, Matt. My bad.

.

Mitch McConnell, Rand Paul and Hal Rogers talk about the war on coal. However they fail to admit the fact that they voted against black lung benefits for the coal miners. They are against the war on coal, but in that war they defend the coal companies, not the coal miners. If you give coal miners black lung it raises coal company expenses. War on coal is a fiction invented to screw the coal miners.

.

Everybody is talking about a certain nurse and how she got into cult religion and used a lawyer to divorce her husband and take everything he had. Everyone knows the husband broke his back to have what they had together and she used her church to take everything he had.

.

This is to the person who is wondering about Operation UNITE here in Letcher County: If you would do your homework and find out who used to sit on the board of directors, you would see why Operation UNITE doesn’t do anything in Letcher County.

.

I’ve found that there are some people whose biggest dream is to be in a human centipede with Whitesburg’s mayor.

.

I am so glad we have a governor who, like our president, cares enough about people and wants to help them so much that he is doing his best to get them good health insurance. Maybe someday the other party will see that having hearts three sizes too small is not the best way to go through life.

.

I live a mile and a half from a post office and I never do get my mail until late in the afternoon after the banks are closed and the post office is closed. You can’t go pay your bills, yet you’ve got to keep them. No wonder post offices are losing money. If you are going to wait that long, you might as well wait and pay all of your bills at one time.

.

You are still my angel and I love you very much. Merry Christmas.

.

You are still a special woman in my heart and mind. I hope you know who this is. Merry Christmas.

.

The CEO of the insurance company through which I have my health insurance has made millions of dollars. My insurance agent drives a Lincoln Town Car. Go figure why they are against the Affordable Care Act.

.

I am so tired of hearing the stupid phrase ‘that being said.’ I think I am going to scream if I hear it again. There should be some award for the stupidest, trite phrases of the year and ‘that being said’ would surely win. That is like saying, ‘I have said something and now I am going to say something else.’ Hell fire, people, isn’t that why we use punctuation?

.

I hate to see Bill Maher’s show on HBO taking a break for a few weeks. He came up with one of his best lines ever this past week when he said Republicans become more like Democrats on certain issues when something negatively affects them or their family. As a ‘for instance,’ he used former Vice President Dick Cheney now supporting gay marriage because his daughter Mary is openly gay and Republican Senator Rob Portman taking the same stand because of his openly gay son. Noting the hypocrisy of many Republicans, Mr. Maher said, ‘This to me is one of the big problems with Republicans is that they only seem to have empathy when it happens to them. What they all need, the Republicans, is a poor person in their family.’ If you don’t have HBO, you can find all kinds of Mr. Maher’s clips on the Internet. He is smart, funny, and usually correct.

.

In recent weeks I have seen our governor Steve Beshear in the national news as a proponent of Affordable Health Care. Isn’t it nice to see a person representing the state of Kentucky with some common sense? The state of Kentucky is in the forefront of those states that are getting people registered for Affordable Health Care. Isn’t it nice to see us leading the nation in something other than basketball or lung disease? I was glad to hear Governor Beshear echo my sentiments about the similarities with Social Security and Medicare. There were rich Republicans (and rich Democrats) who opposed those programs too. Any program designed to help the poor and downtrodden will be opposed by the rich, who are totally lacking compassion for the less fortunate. Their attitude has always been ‘I got mine, sucker, now you get yours’. Let’s not blame President Obama for computer problems. Let’s not scrap the whole program and start all over as some have proposed. That would just give the Republicans another chance to defeat the whole initiative. When the program is eventually brought to fruition, it will be as widely accepted as Social Security and Medicare are today. Furthermore, we as nation will be better off. We might even catch up with many other countries that are now 50 years ahead of us in providing healthcare for the citizens who made their countries strong. I hope to see the day when our illustrious Senator Mc- Connell and House Speaker Boehner of Ohio will be voted out of office because the American people realize they are totally lacking in compassion for the working poor and the middle class citizens who made this nation great.

A baby not covered by Medicaid or insurance had to have surgery recently. If Obamacare had already been in place, the baby would have been healthier because the parents wouldn’t have prolonged taking the baby to the doctor and it wouldn’t have had to have emergency surgery. If you don’t have health insurance, you weigh the situation. Sometimes mistakes are made and the baby suffers. God bless you.

.

Sharlene Cook Pierce is in jail in Abington, Va. She was mentioned recently in your paper on the front page in connection with some federal charges. If anybody wants to look at her, she is there with her boyfriend, Henry Hall.

.

Walmart said they weren’t going to start selling certain items on Black Friday until at a certain time. They were letting people in the store buy stuff that wasn’t supposed to be on sale until a certain time so all the people could be there and get a chance to buy it. People already had it in buggies pushing it around and then paid for it later. I don’t think that’s right. They can go jump for my part.

.

The big oil companies and big gas companies make billions of dollars, yet the people who pump gas have no health insurance.

.

To all victims of mind control and to the demons behind it: God knows who you are and how you slay the innocent and how you think you can steal body parts from innocent victims to save your own wretched selves. God has your numbers and you know who you are. In Jesus’ name, amen.

.

A microchip is real. Mind control is real. It is out there and it haunts whoever it can. The HIPAA law is being broken all over the place.

.

I love you, Janice Mae Smith. You are a wonderful person. From Mamaw.

.

I am just so tired of living. When I decide to do something I’m not even going to tell anybody. I’m tired of praying and getting no answers in my prayers. I’m just tired of everything, including life itself. When I do, I’m not going to let anybody know.

.

This is to all you litterbugs out there. It looks like you would have enough decency and respect for other people’s property that you wouldn’t throw trash out on their land when you go by in your cars. It’s a nuisance to have to pick it up and it looks very ugly. Why don’t you all try to keep Letcher County clean?

(Makes you wonder what the inside of a litterbug’s home looks like, doesn’t it?)

.

To the Letcher County Game Warden: You need to keep a check on the mountain at Whitco. People are killing deer at night. They don’t tag little bucks they kill. They shoot at anything that moves and is alive. A few have already killed three or four bucks and not tagged them. They slip them off of the hill and are still hunting for more, bigger bucks. There will not be any deer left if the game wardens do not keep a check on this place. They go and hunt at all hours of the night, spotting them with a spotlight and killing them.

.

It is a sad time in America. I am thankful for Speak Your Piece in The Mountain Eagle. At least we can write and speak out against all the foolishness our government is doing. Most of the news media are liars and won’t let the American people speak out against the man in the White House. It amazes me that the American people are so gullible that they believe all the lies from Washington, D.C. What comes from there is just as filthy as what comes from Hollywood. It looks like the American people need to leave our nation, as our elected officials have forsaken our constitution and are making their own, ungodly laws. We have a government that has lost its mind and its morals, and it does no good to write to our senators, as the Republicans have no backbone to stand against this corrupt administration. We need to vote out everyone in public office who has been there for more than one term because apparently they are part of the problem, as the Republicans won’t stand against the Democrats destroying our nation.
