I am shocked at what I just saw when I had to take this detour up through Pert Creek to get across Pine Mountain this morning. How can our health department, our public officials, and our law-enforcement agencies allow certain families to put such filth in their yards? If Pert Creek isn’t a health hazard I don’t know what is. Allowing something like this to exist is a complete failure of our local government. I also see some extremely nice homes on beautiful land. I feel sorry for those people who have to live next to a filthy neighbor. To our officials: Please help the good citizens of Pert Creek by making the others clean their trash up. There is no excuse for this being allowed to continue.

.

Me and my friend went to Pound, Virginia to do a little job over there. When we came back through the town there were two women standing on the street. They smiled and I told my friend, ‘There’s something in their mouths.’ He answered, ‘That’s teeth. We’ve been in Jenkins so long we forgot what they looked like.’

.

In February we suffered the biggest monthly deficit our country has ever had — $234 billion — and the defi- cit for the fiscal year is up 40 percent so far. Corporate tax revenue has fallen 32 percent. But at least rich people and those companies got big breaks. In the long run it’s nothing to worry about because our kids and grandchildren will pay it off.

.

In traveling Letcher County and Knott County the last few weeks, the only thing everyone is talking about is Trump. What I don’t understand is the people saying he is such a great man when the only thing he wants to talk about is putting the wall up. He doesn’t want to keep the Russians out or the Indians out, only the Mexicans. I just wonder what Mexico ever did to his family, because the only reason he ran for office was to put a wall up. God gave this country to everybody. Think about what kind of guy you’re putting into office when you go to the polls.

.

If you have a teenage son and he happens to bring home a girlfriend with a little extra makeup on and pierced dimples, she is not a kid. This woman is thirty or forty and just pretends to be a teenager.

.

To a certain church: Please shut that piano player up. She is no preacher.

.

I want to take a minute and say how impressed I am with the Jenkins Independent School’s middle school sports program, from football to basketball and now baseball. These folks have put a lot of work into this and I want to thank them for the good job. That middle school baseball program is something special.

.

I still say the magistrates should get out and go up and down these hollows and get the names of every family paying an electric bill. There is a lot of money getting away from the county, with three or four families dumping their trash in to one garbage bin.

.

To Sheriff Mickey Stines: Stay strong and don’t let the ex-deputy get on your nerves. There is no law that says a public official has to rehire a person — in this case a woman — who fights openly against said official in two consecutive elections. You should countersue the ex-deputy and make her pay your legal fees over such a nonsense case like this.

.

AEP needs to provide the public with a place where power bills can be paid until at least 5 o’clock. J&J Communications in Whitesburg only stays open until 4:30. I didn’t know that collecting power bills was such hard work that a place has to close early.

.

WMMT is real people radio. Old Red is a real person. Old Red will play a Christmas song in April. Because of this people like it, and so do I.

.

To the governor of Georgia: Sign that abortion bill, sir. God bless your state. And for those who are threatening not to do business in your state, let the blood of all aborted babies be on their hands.

.

I wish we had a president smart enough to figure out how to solve the horrible problem on our border with Mexico.

.

I think it’s a shame when certain law-enforcement officers bust other people for drugs when their own grandmothers and aunts do the same thing. Why is nothing ever done about that?

.

I am so sorry for all of the people who were directed up and down Pert Creek Road because they were working on US 119 at the foot of Pine Mountain. I am sorry for what you people had to see in some of the Pert Creeks residents’ yards and on their porches. Did you think you were in Hades? That’s what I feel like — like we are living right in the middle of Hades.

.

This is for the people who had to turn down Pert Creek and up Pert Creek while they were working on the road across the mountain: I apologize to you for having to look at some of the people’s yards up here. They need to do something about this mess up here. Some of us don’t live like that.

.

Lady, you would know if the highway to heaven went through my yard. And it’s really none of your business where it is or where it goes. Keep your nose out of other people’s business. Bye.

.

To a certain person: You don’t have to worry about there being bickering in heaven, because you will never see heaven. The person you are, you are on the route to hell, and that’s where you are going.

This little young cop over here in Cumberland just had a pretty little blondehaired girl pulled over. I just wonder if he’s looking for a girlfriend. If he is, there are better way to go about it.

.

I was at Wendy’s recently and a man walked up to me and asked about getting a hat like the black one I had on. If he still wants one he can call me at 821-9947 and I will get one of these hats for him. Thank you.

.

I liked this past week’s paper. The first thing I saw on the front page was Mickey Stines being named in a lawsuit. I look forward to seeing a lot more of these politicians’ names on the front page. By the way, they don’t carry a halo over their heads. And then there was the picture of the church showing that a pain clinic was located nearby. By the way, did they ever find the hangman’s noose that is missing from the courthouse?

.

There’s so much dirt under the courthouse rug they can’t sweep much more under it.

.

During the campaign our president said he’d give us health care that covered everyone and was cheaper and better. Now he’s trying to destroy the health care of tens of millions of Americans. This is unusually coldhearted even for Republicans. Always plenty of money for killing, little for healing. Is this what Jesus would do, or Satan?

.

Mr. President, you’re going to do the right thing when you shut the border down. There’s no doubt about it. And about the health care bill, Mr. Trump you can’t tell me that you all didn’t go into this without having something drafted up. Go get them files and get it out and present it to America. The Democrats couldn’t get you on anything else so now they’re hollering about this Medicare thing. Mr. Trump, we know that you are smarter than that because we put you in office. God bless America and God bless you, Mr. Trump. Get the borders under control and put your health care bill in front of the people. Let’s get all this straightened out. The election is coming up and the Democrats are digging deep to destroy everything you have built. Thank you, Mr. President.

.

I wonder why the county will not fix the road going into the cemetery in the left hand fork of Doty Creek. It’s a shame that we can’t go and visit our loved ones in the cemetery on that mountain just because the county won’t keep that road up.

.

I want to thank the leaders of the Democrat Party who are on TV all the time. Thank you so much for helping Donald Trump get elected in 2020. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — we couldn’t have done it without you. The Republicans can just sit back and have a cold drink and relax, because these lead Democrats are going to put Trump back into office by a landslide. So I can’t tell them how much I appreciate what they have done for Donald Trump.

.

If they meet in the park or they meet in the dark, it’s between the two and is nothing to you. Mind your own business.

.

Just to let the people know that on Saturday, March 23, there was a state policeman in the Hindman area of Knott County writing tickets for everyone that passed by. The blue lights were flashing as many times as he could make them. Some people were just getting out of their vehicles to pump gasoline and were written tickets for no seatbelts. Law-abiding citizens were being treated pretty bad. They say the seatbelt law is to save lives, but they could care less about your life. If the government cared for the people’s lives they wouldn’t want to be murdering innocent children by abortion. The seatbelt law is to harass innocent citizens and to take innocent people’s money by fines. So I would advise anyone to stay away from Hindman if you don’t want to be harassed by the police. It would be a good thing if the police would arrest those that are drinking and a danger to others on the highways, but they know that those that are on drugs may not be able to pay fines, so they harass innocent law abiding people to take their money. We pay enough in taxes and license fees without being harassed by fines.

.

I want to wish several people happy birthday. Lonnie Pack, March 29; Chloe Pack, the 30th; Kathy Trent, April 1; Brent Day, April 6; Kyliee Sue Pack, April 7; Serena Smith, Paul Murphy, a brother in the Lord and friend, Mama Cora’s Susie, April 13; Johnny Hospkins, Michael Shane, Ben’s brother, Lorraine Stewart Miles, our cousin, April 19; Billie Ilene Pack, my wife, April 26. Have a good one honey, miss you. Samantha Houston of Neon, Eugene Day, April 29, a special friend. Please print this? Thank you, Stanley Pack.

.

Do you think Donald Trump ever missed a meal in his life because his family could not afford groceries? Was he ever denied health care because his family did not have health insurance or money? Was he ever embarrassed to attend any function because he did not have proper attire or equipment? How can this arrogant, coddled, privileged nincompoop ever empathize with the common people of this nation? He can’t! We must have a leader(s) who do not look at the world through rosecolored glasses. History will record that the name Donald Trump will never be mentioned in the same breath as great presidents like Franklin D. Roosevelt and John Kennedy (both from wealthy families) who tried to help the poor get their fair share of this country’s bounty. It is the common man who does the backbreaking work in our mines, mills, factories, farms and such that made America great; not the manipulative, uncaring Donald Trumps of this world.

.

To the new cop in Jenkins who is from Pound: Why on earth would you take a job again for the city that got rid of you not too long ago for doing your job? We were real proud of what you did up there that night. And then the mayor up and fired you over that? I would never ever worked for him again.

.

Since our good-for-nothing president started his tariffs on China and other places the price of aluminum keeps going down. The prices have been going down for the last two years.

.

I wonder what a certain fellow is going to do when a certain uncle finds out that he used to sneak down and try to do to his uncle’s wife. I feel a whole lot of stuff is going to happen to him. She told us about it. And you act like you are a goody twoshoes? I wonder what your wife is going to say when she finds out you were trying to sleep with your uncle’s wife? You know who you are.

.

I would like to ask a certain girl who used to have a black vehicle if she remembers me. I remember you when we went to Big Branch to the gas well. We also went to Fishpond. I will never forget those days, will you? I see you working sometimes and think about those times.

.

Because I respected Danny Webb as sheriff and have family members who are close friends with him, I did not go to him to complain about the ex-deputy who is now suing the new sheriff pulling me over several times for no reason, one of those times while the matriarch of this newspaper was lying in the funeral home and I was trying to get there to show my respect. This deputy pulled me over without reason at least eight times during one threemonth period. She never once gave me a reason, other than the one time she told me she ‘thinks’ I went through the light.

.

I knew Letcher County was a special place, but I didn’t know we had celebrities. I did know we have the people who were in the movies ‘Coal Miner’s Daughter’ and ‘Next of Kin,’ but I was surprised to go up in Cram Creek the other day and meet a big Crown Vic four-door with Will Ferrell driving it. Peace out, Will Ferrell. Ten-four.

.

Whether you are a mommy or daddy and whether you’ve got a girl or boy on drugs you need to take them to South Carolina or somewhere and lock them up in a cage. You don’t know what hell is until you have to go through living with a child on drugs, boy or girl.

.

The cop from Virginia is back in Jenkins. We call him Robo Cop. I know we need the drug traffickers and the druggies arrested, but we don’t need the good people being harassed. People are afraid to come into town now. Don’t the police have to have a reason to pull you over? This has got to stop.

.

I am still waiting for just one Trump fan to call Speak Your Piece and let us know one single thing Donald Trump has done to make Letcher County a better place to live. Fewer coal miners are working in Letcher County now than when Trump took office. In fact, fewer people are working overall in Letcher County today than on the day Trump took office. The only things related to Letcher County that Donald Trump has done since he took office was to try to stop the federal prison from being built at Roxana and try to kill our healthcare industry that hires so many of our people. Oh, and he’s also trying to stop food stamps and Medicaid for the poor.

.

I have been a faithful reader and contributor to Speak Your Piece for years. I try to leave beneficial comments. I don’t understand why you put the comments in from the guy who calls himself the cat killer. I could see someone killing dangerous animals, but do the cats affect him? He is killing innocent animals. He needs to put in jail. He is a sociopath.

.

I hope you people are up on these outhouse preachers whether they are on TV or live next door. Listen, your relationship with Jesus Christ is a personal thing. Read Philippians 2:12. You have your own salvation. You don’t need those people and I don’t need those people. It’s personal. So enjoy not supporting these false prophets. Later.

.

I agree with the caller who said Trump might get something down now since the collusion is over with. Maybe he’ll get rid of all the food stamps and ObamaCare and the Medicaid and get things straightened up in this country and put everybody back to work. Thank you.

.

If the police would come to Doty Creek and set up a roadblock I guarantee you they could find out who is peddling the drugs.

.

Concerning the ex-deputy who is now suing the sheriff: This is just another frivolous lawsuit that wastes the taxpayers’ money. She appears to have no regard for many of the civil laws of the land, yet she wants to be a police officer? I am confused.

.

To the person who commented on my Heavenly Father prayer: Yes, it is in the Bible, in Psalms 90:10. The King James Version is a little hard to understand, but I like it. You have a nice day.

.

This is to former sheriff ’s deputy Alisha Congleton: Honey, why can’t you just accept that the new sheriff does not have to hire you? His is a whole different administration. He didn’t have to rehire you, and the people would not have liked it if he did. Why don’t you come over here to Cumberland and get a job?

.

Dear Speak: I would like to know why in the world the DEA would raid the offices of Dr. Gutti. Hasn’t Dr. Gutti let enough coal miners suffer from chronic pain? Dr. Gutti will not give out any stronger pain medicine than a Lorcet 7.5. That’s about as strong as a good Tylenol, extra strength. This is as ridiculous as the DEA is ridiculous.

.

First I would like to say Speak Your Piece, you do a great job. Thank you for your service. I decided to take a drive the other day when it was nice and warm. I decided to drive through the little town of Jenkins. I swooped down off the bypass at the high school, down by the beautiful lake, and then took a right at the gas station at the bottom of the mountain. What a beautiful little town I saw there — the caboose, the library, the museum, and all the architecture of the old churches. What a beautiful little town. Then I saw something that looked like a junkyard full of cars. I ventured on and then thought I might get a flat tire because the road was so bad as I arrived in a beautiful little town called Burdine. So I then decided to turn around and leave Jenkins. A little word of advice to the town’s council and mayor: If you all want to bring tourists to the town, fix the roads and get rid of the junk.

.

Let me paraphrase our great leader, Donald Trump. He said that he would begin proceedings to repeal ObamaCare on his first day in office. When the issue actually came up for a vote he said just go ahead and repeal it now and we will replace it with something better later. Thank you, Senator John McCain, for your deciding vote to oppose the resolution. I believe that when Donald Trump looks at the poor, the sick, the disabled and the disadvantaged he sees twenty million people with the word ‘STUPID’ written on their foreheads.

.

The person who said the words rapture and trinity are not in the Bible is right, but it does say ‘these three are one,’ referring to the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit. This is not referring to the disciples. Go to 1 John 5:7-8.

.

For 22 months, Robert Mueller was the hero of the mainstream media and the Democrats. Now they all are very upset with him.

.

To you people who are calling in complaining about Speak Your Piece not printing everything you say: Shame on you. If they printed everything that I called in they would have to dedicate the whole paper to me. So back off. Speak Your Piece is good to all of us.
