Speaker available to county groups

April Graham, the southeastern Kentucky outreach counselor with the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA) and The Student Loan People, is available to conduct free college planning and student financial aid presentations to Letcher County organizations.

Besides middle and high schools, Graham is available to visit public libraries, adult education centers and other community organizations such as chambers of commerce, Big Brothers/ Big Sisters, civic clubs, church groups, and more.

KHEAA is the state agency that administers the Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarships (KEES), need-based grants and other student aid programs and guarantees Federal Family Education Loans to help Kentuckians pay higher education expenses.

The Student Loan People is KHEAA’s sister agency and Kentucky’s only public nonprofit student loan provider. More than 54,000 borrowers saved more than $40 million in 2006 with zero-fee loans; principal and interest rate reductions; and interest and loan forgiveness for teachers, nurses and public service attorneys through the Best in Class, Best in Care and Best in Law programs.

To schedule a presentation or exhibit, contact April Graham at (606) 666-4253, agraham@kheslc.com, or P.O. Box 547, Campton, KY 41301.
