Carcassonne’s Council has voted to move the November square dance from Nov. 13 to Nov. 20. While this does not guarantee that the dance will be able to take place, it gives another week for the current COVID surge to die down. If Letcher County is still in the Red Zone, the dance will be cancelled.
The council is raffling chances on a Henry leveraction classic 22 rifle to raise money so the roof on the community center can be repaired or replaced. The council had hoped to have a display at several of the local fall festivals, but COVID, cancelations, and complications intervened. The winner of the Henry Rifle raffle will be drawn at 9 p.m. on Nov. 20, dance or not. To get a chance to win this beautiful rifle (shown on the “Carcassonne Community Center Activities” page), contact a Carcassonne Council member, or message or text Michael Caudill, at (606) 454-4052.
