LOUISVILLE
Kentucky officials are hoping for federal aproval that will allow launching an appliance rebate program in time for the holiday shopping season.
The state is to receive $4 million out of $300 million set aside nationally for energy-efficient energy appliance rebates. The rebates will range from $20 to $400.
The program is part of the stimulus bill passed in February and is aimed at promoting purchases of Energy Star-rated appliances and stimulating the appliance industry.
